Will Hogwarts Legacy Have Quidditch?

Published

 on

Quidditch, being the go-to sport for the fictional Wizarding World, will more than likely take up a huge chunk of Hogwarts Legacy. Or, at least, that’s what most die-hard Harry Potter fans will tell you. Avalanche, on the other hand, might be thinking otherwise.

As well all know, Quidditch, outside of the books and movies, was a sport best portrayed in Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup. But that was a PlayStation 2 game that came out way back in 2003. Since then, little has come to light, meaning a well-deserved refresher wouldn’t go amiss in this day and age. And Hogwarts Legacy, being so chock-full of features, seems like a perfect opportunity to treat such sore eyes.

That being said, both Warner Bros. and Avalanche Software have yet to show so much as a real Quidditch game in the upcoming action-adventure sequence. What this means is that, despite showing some flying lessons and what have you, Quidditch might not actually be a playable sport in Hogwarts Legacy.

Of course, this isn’t to say that it won’t come to light closer to its Holiday 2022 release date. It’s also a possibility that it will release as paid DLC a little later down the line. But as for the here and now, there seems to be no signs of any Quidditch games whatsoever.

Memory unlocked…

So much for being the next Gryffindor Seeker, eh?

“Broom flight is a method of travel in Hogwarts Legacy and there are also broom races,” WB Games said on the Hogwarts Legacy FAQ. “Players can take a Flying class to master their broomstick flying skills.”

Other than that, talks of using such skills for Quidditch purposes are basically non-existent. And that’s a real shocker for most—if not all Wizarding World fans, considering how well-known the sport is and how big of a part it plays in the lore. But like we said, it could be a wild card that WB is saving for the last minute. Here’s hoping, anyway.

Hogwarts Legacy is slated for a Holiday 2022 release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
