Tomb Raider Classic Trilogy Remaster Announced for Nintendo Switch

The first three Tomb Raider games are set to make a return, revamped and remastered for the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo revealed that Tomb Raider 1, 2, and 3 will get a remaster during today's Nintendo Direct. The Tomb Raider games will take players on a thrilling journey through Lara Croft's original adventures.

Aspyr, a studio popular for developing game ports and remasters, will develop the trilogy's new remaster. The new collection promises a nostalgic and visually enhanced journey for both longtime fans and newcomers to the series.

Aspyr has pulled out all the stops, not only updating the graphics but also including all the expansions and secret levels for each of the three games.

Players will have the ability to seamlessly switch between the original polygonal appearance and the sleek, modern graphics at any moment during gameplay. This gives players the chance to relive Lara Croft's early adventures as they were or experience them in a stunning new light.

Nintendo stated, “This faithfully remastered trilogy comes with all of the expansions and secret levels for each game. You can also toggle between the original polygon look and the upgraded visuals at any time.”

The Tomb Raider franchise has left an indelible mark on the gaming world, and this remastered collection allows fans to revisit Lara Croft's original escapades with a fresh perspective. Pre-orders for Tomb Raider: 1-2-3 Remastered is open now, with a limited-time price of $26.99 until release, after which it will be available for $29.99.

Tomb Raider: 1-2-3 Remastered will launch on February 14, 2024, for the Nintendo Switch. Details on whether the games will launch on other consoles were not revealed.
