The New Survivor in Dead by Daylight Is None Other than Nicolas Cage Himself

Nicolas Cage

In an unexpected and strange spring of news, actor Nicolas Cage is now making his debut in the game, Dead by Daylight. The game's developers, Behaviour Interactive, revealed and confirmed long-time Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage's appearance in the game in a surprise announcement on Twitter, stating “It's the performance of a lifetime. Dead by Daylight: Nicolas Cage. Coming to a realm near you. Learn more on July 5th.”

The developers even released a teaser video on Youtube to further cement Nicolas Cage's arrival in the game. We don't know if he'll appear as a survivor or a killer; all we know is that he's playing himself. This isn't surprising given that the actor recently played himself in the 2022 film, The Unberable Weight of Massive Talent. Furthermore, hearing his voice behind any other face in the game would make him a difficult “killer” to take seriously.

Will Nicolas Cage Play as Survivor or Killer?

It's hard to say which role the actor will take once he's officially implemented in the game, as there's an argument to be had for both. For example, we have a strong suspicion that he will enter the game as a killer vampire. This speculation, of course, stems entirely from Cage's most recent film, Renfield, in which he plays Conde Dracula. That film was also released three days before his reveal announcement. So it's difficult not to draw ties between the film's release and the character's unforeseen arrival in Dead by Daylight.

With all that said, Nicolas Cage is stepping into the game as himself, not Conde Dracula. So, won't he be a survivor? It's too early to say. Either way, there's a 100% chance we'll be playing the character regardless of his role. We only wish Dead by Daylight had voice chat so we could roleplay as the actor himself, for a truly authentic experience that would surely garner some laughs.

So, what's your take? Do you expect Nicolas Cage to arrive in Dead by Daylight? Do you think he'll come as a survivor or killer? Let us know in the comments below or over on our socials here!
