The Game Awards are always a thrilling event for both gamers and developers. It's a time when both creators and players can sit back, relax, and relish in the fantastic games released this year. Of course, the best of them will be recognized with awards in their respective categories. Which, at the end of the day, is the sole reason we all tune it. However, if you watched the 2022 Game Awards, you'll know this year's show was a spectacle that featured more than just awards. It also had many great video game reveals as well.

That's right, The Game Awards 2022 also works as a platform for developers to announce new titles and get the audience excited for what's to come. And from watching the show, let us tell you, there is a lot of exciting content waiting for us down the road. However, if you didn't catch the show and missed these announcements, don't fret. 5. Hellboy: Web of Wyrd Announced

Fans of the gritty comic and movie series Hellboy, will be excited to know that the character is finally getting a videogame spin-off that looks worthy of filling the character’s persona and movie atmosphere. That game is Hellboy: Web of Wyrd, which is being created in partnership with Dark Horse Comics and Mike Mignola – the American comic artist who first created the Hellboy Dark Horse Comics. So you can rest assured, the game is in good hands.

Hellboy: Web of Wyrd is a rogue-lite action-adventure game with a sleek and dark comic book graphic style. And, while we don’t know much, from what we can tell Hellboy: Web of Wyrd will be full of demonic monsters to clobber. Though no release date has been set, we do know that Hellboy Web of Wyrd will be available on Switch, PC, Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Nonetheless, this is one of the game reveals from the 2022 Game Awards, that's worth getting excited about.

4. Hades 2 Announced

A fan-favorite title that took gamers by storm in 2020, Hades, revealed at the 2022 Game Awards that it is getting a sequel. Simply known as Hades II, this sequel of the action rogue-lite, hack-and-slash, indie game will focus on Melinoe, the immortal princess of the underworld as our protagonist. If you happened to catch the show, it's no surprise that this was one of the game reveals that received a standing ovation from the audience.

As of now, SuperGiant Games has not confirmed which consoles Hades II will be released on, nor when it will be released. We do know that Hades II will be released in Early Access in 2023, prior to the v1.0 release. Aside from that, you can expect Hades II to feature new locations, challenges, upgrade systems, and more surprises in the underworld.

3. Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon Announced

One of the biggest game reveals at the 2022 Game Awards came from Elden Ring developer, FromSoftware. Who revealed they are rebooting their Armored Core series with a new game, known as Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. The game's reveal trailer was shown at the 2022 Game Awards, and it did a great job of hyping us up for stepping back into the Mech. Plus, considering the new state of game development we're ushering in, it's safe to assume FromSoftware has some crazy ideas for how you'll play and use the mech in this game.

FromSoftware announced that Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will release for PC, PlayStation 5/4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. And, while it's expected to launch in 2023, we're still waiting on a release window. Surely enough though, we will wait. As this is one genre of game that fans have been deprived of for quite some time. The Titanfall series was the most recent successful rendition of a “mech” inspired video game. Though it's been over a half-decade since the sequel Titanfall 2 came out. So, a new mech game like Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will surely be welcomed by the community.

2. Judas Announced

One of the most exciting game reveals for us came from Ghost Story Games and their newest triple-A project, Judas. In what appears to be a love letter to their best-selling franchise, the Bioshock series, Judas looks to resurrect the hand-casting magic and dark steampunk world of Bioshock to new and more innovative heights. We only say that because Judas is being directed by Ken Levine, the mastermind that brough us the likes of Columbia and Rapture in the Bioshock series.

So you can confidently expect the dark and gritty elements of the Bioshock series to directly cross over into Judas. The game does not yet have a release date, but it will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Nonetheless, Ghost Story Games is hitting the mark for their fanbase with the release of Judas – a new title that, from what we can tell, will further exploit the studio's great style of games.

1. Death Stranding 2 Announced

Out of all the game reveals at the 2022 Game Awards, it was the reveal of Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding 2 that took the spotlight. Though most of us knew it was coming, the curtain was officially unveiled at the show, with a Death Stranding 2 reveal trailer. Norman Reedus, Troy Baker, and Léa Seydoux will be returning to their roles in the sequel. Along with two new voices from Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna.

Aside from other details, knowledge of Death Stranding 2 is scarce. Which, is typically how Kojima likes to handle news of his games before they release. But, you can most likely expect the sequel to release exclusively to PC and Playstation 5. As that was the case for the original Death Stranding. Nonetheless, most of us gamers are just excited to explore the immersive world and heart-touched story once again, in Death Stranding 2.
