Elden Ring wins the ultimate crown as the GAME OF THE YEAR award at The Game Awards 2022.

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco's Elden Ring has won the game of the year award during the Game Awards 2022. In the race for the ultimate crown, Elden Ring was facing other great games like A Plague Tale: Requiem, God of War Ragnarök, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. 

And even though fans knew that the final showdown would be between Elden ring and God of War Ragnarök going head to head for the ultimate crown, it was Elden Ring that carried home the highlight of the day.

Released back in February this year, Elden Ring a soul-like game continued to fascinate and entertain gamers all over the world all year long and it is no surprise that it won the most coveted award of the Game Awards 2022.

When receiving the award Hidetaka Miyazaki the game's director confirmed that we should expect more from Elden Ring. He also added that the company has been inspired to do more great games in the future.

With seven nominations coming to the awards show, Elden Ring won the game of the year award alongside three other awards: best role-playing game, best art direction, and best game direction.
