Silent Hill 2 Remake Release Date Leaked

Published

 on

There’s no doubt about it — Silent Hill 2 is one of the most sought-after video game remakes on the planet. And while Konami has yet to actually confirm its release date, certain retailers are already planning ahead of the reveal. What we mean here is, a release date has already been leaked. Yes, it could very well be a placeholder, although those tend to fall on December 31st, more often than not. But according to Australian retailer Gorilla Gaming, the upcoming remake will be making its way to the shelves on September 29, 2023.

Of course, you should take everything with a grain of salt these days. That said, given the fact that the leaked release date falls on a Friday—a weekday known to accrue the most interest when it comes to releasing triple-A games—September 29th is actually looking quite likely. However, until Konami officially swoops in to either shoot down the leak, we can’t really say.

Whatever the case may be, if the game is planning on launching later this year, then chances are Konami will reveal the final release window much sooner than later. If we’re lucky, then we’ll catch an update at some point in July, or perhaps even August at the very latest.

Is Silent Hill 2 Coming to Xbox?

Just to remind you, Silent Hill 2 will be locked to both PlayStation 5 and PC on launch. As for when it’ll shed its Sony exclusivity is anybody’s guess, though at the time of writing, Xbox fans probably shouldn’t get their hopes up. Who knows, though? Konami could still very well surprise us, after all.

If you’re interested in staying in the loop, then be sure to check in with Konami over on its official social feed here. We’ll be sure to let you know just as soon as there’s a release date. Here’s hoping it’s sooner than we anticipated.

So, what’s your take? Do you think we’ll be catching a glimpse of Silent Hill 2 later this year? Let us know your thoughts over on our socials here.
