The anticipated futuristic racing Redout 2 has been delayed yet again. Thankfully, the delay does not affect all versions of the game. The PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One versions will all drop on Thursday, June 16. Nintendo Switch Players, on the other hand, will have to wait a bit longer.

According to the developer 34BigThings, the Nintendo Switch version will delay since it requires “a bit more polish” before it is ready to launch. According to a message from the official Redout 2 Twitter account, the developer has postponed the Switch edition until July. The Twitter announcement did not provide a precise release date. However, according to the announcement, the developer will provide an update as soon as feasible.

“Switch players – the game needs a little more polish time. We're working to get the Switch version out in July, and we'll have an updated release date for you as soon as we can!” reads a tweet from the official account.

This announcement comes after a prior delay of the game launch. 34BigThings had scheduled to release the game on May 26. However, the developer postponed the release date to June 16 on all platforms. While delays are usual in the gaming industry, 34BigThings and Saber Interactive have been very open about the process of getting this game out to the public. Interestingly, delays are quite usual in the franchise. The original game was launched on September 2, 2016, for Microsoft Windows, while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were released in late August 2017.

The new futuristic racing game will have vivid colors, an EDM tune, and speeds of over 1,000 kilometers per hour. Vehicle customization will be available in the upcoming Redout, which is a first for the franchise. The new game will also feature a photo mode to allow gamers to capture the breathtaking graphics.
