Indies That We Can’t Wait to Play: Early 2022
Early 2022 offers a lot of promises that gamers shouldn't pass upon. Without further ado, here are 5 titles that we can't wait to play.
Olli Olli World
Olli Olli World is an upcoming skateboarding platformer that simply looks amazing. It's time to kickflip your way through the magical land of Radlandia, meet its colorful inhabitants, and find the skate gods. Each level will offer multiple paths for you to explore that are filled with side missions and random challenges. Olli Olli World is also accessible to both beginner and pro players, as many tricks are easy to pick up but hard to master. If this trailer is any indication, we might get an unforgettable experience.

Know by Heart
From the creators of the Pathologic series, we have an emotional adventure/visual novel. Know by Heart follows the story of Misha, a man trapped in a monotonous job whose life takes a turn when he is re-introduced to his high school crush and various friends. Many memories will soon come to the surface, and it's up to you to choose which connections you want to rekindle. Know by Heart will be choice-driven and non-linear, so we hope that it will contain a lot of surprises.
Platforms: PC

Monark
Next, we have a dark psychological JRPG that looks very promising. Similar to Persona, Monark will have us explore 2 worlds: the real one that is engulfed in mist, and a mysterious Otherworld. To save your own, you'll need to strengthen your Ego and conjure up powerful Fiends. We hope that Monark goes all out on surrealism and delivers a powerful story mixed with strong turn-based mechanics.
Platforms: PC, Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5

Tunic
Tunic has been in the making for nearly a decade, and it's finally released in mid-March. Inspired by Zelda, this is an isometric action-adventure that follows the journey of a cute fox. Judging by the trailer, Tunic will mix mesmerizing visual style with an evocative exclusive soundtrack created by Lifeformed. Everything looks good so far, and we expect to get a lot of epic boss fights and an engaging storyline.
Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC

Weird West
Lastly, we have a mix of adventure, western, and an immersive sim created by WolfEye Studios. Staying true to its name, Weird West will serve as a dark spinoff to the usual genre, mixing gunslingers with bizarre creatures of the night. In this land, each choice supposedly changes the course of your journey, so every playthrough will be unique. Weird West will shift you from character to character, building up elaborate stories that will clash in the end. The game also has a lot of RPG elements, and we are excited to see how this all works together.
