Louisiana Downs is a racino that is about 20 minutes out from Shreveport by car, but highly worth the visit. Located on 8000 East Texas Street, this horse racetrack opened in 1974. It has both dirt and turf tracks and hosts over 100 races each year. You can catch some of the action yourself and even place bets at the off track betting kiosks. Though Louisiana Downs is more geared towards horse race betting, it has ample casino games. The casino may only be 12,000 square feet big, but it has over 1,000 slots on offer. There are lots of new slots to try out, including Great Balls of Fire and Lucky Shamrock. If you are feeling lucky, then you can hit some of the jackpot games and play for some tremendous prizes. This casino is also a bit further out, but you will have to take the I-20 W and head West. Lucky Jacks Casino is a locally run brand that has casinos in four cities in Louisiana. 9. Shreveport Airport Casino

airport casino shreveport

Before we get your hopes up, the Airport Casino is not actually located within Shreveport Regional Airport. It is only a few minutes away from the Airport by car though. Like Lucky Jacks and Cash Magic, this is not a big landbased casino but rather a small gaming venue with a handful of video poker machines. You can tank up, buy some food to go and whatever else you need in the store and gas station.

Having a casino near the airport can have its uses, especially if you have some time to kill. However, it will not help you if you have checked in and are awaiting a flight. You may want to check out this casino after coming off a long flight or if you arrive early at the airport.

Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana is a project that is planned to open in 2025. This casino is not far from all the action, sitting on the riverfront in Downtown Bossier City. What we know about the project so far is that it will have a 550 room hotel and over 47,000 square feet dedicated to gaming. The venue will also have a pool complex, a fully equipped gym and several restaurants.

The Cordish Companies, the developing company, has stated that Live! will have over 1,000 slots and 40 gaming tables. We still have to wait a while before we see the casino opening. Fortunately, there are plenty of alternatives to check out in the area, such as Boomtown, Margaritaville, Horseshoe, Sam's Town and Bally's.
