God of War Ragnarok Release Date Potentially Leaked

Updated on

The release date for God of War Ragnarok has dropped, although its window could very well be a placeholder, according to Twitter handle PlayStation Game Size.

Published to their Twitter feed yesterday, PlayStation Game Size dropped the release date for the highly anticipated sequel to 2018's God of War. According to the team, which basically pulls up stats from the backend of PlayStation games, Ragnarok will release on September 30, 2022. However, it hasn't been confirmed whether this is just a placeholder, or a guaranteed concrete release window.

Originally slated for a 2021 release, God of War Ragnarok was set to hit both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. However, thanks to issues surrounding development, the game was pushed back to 2022. Since then, Santa Monica Studio has failed to let any new updates slip from the radar. But if what PlayStation Game Size is saying is true, then we could be in for some fresh news over the next couple of months.

I mean, it's possible…

As always, it's best to take the news with a grain of salt. Although to be fair, it does seem like an appropriate date for the sequel, and conveniently rests around most paydays. Either way, it's definitely in the works, so fingers crossed we'll see something pop out of the blue early 2022.

God of War Ragnarok was first teased back in 2020 during the PlayStation 5 showcase. The game is expected to release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. You can, of course, follow PlayStation Game Size on over their official Twitter handle here. Or if you'd rather stick closer to home, then you can follow Santa Monica Studio's official link here.

So, what's your take? Are you expecting God of War Ragnarok to release on September 30, 2022? Is it a release date or a placeholder? Let us know your thoughts over on our socials here or down in the comments below.
