5 Most Anticipated PSVR2 Games Coming Out in 2023

Updated on
Vampire: The Masquerade - Justice

Although the Meta Quest 3 is the latest thing making headlines, and possibly the next best VR headset to arrive on our doorstep, we haven't forgotten about the PSVR2. Still very new, PlayStation's latest VR headset launched with some great games such as Horizon Call of the Mountain and Gran Turismo 7 VR. However, the headset isn't done yet; it still has a lot to prove. That's why we're taking a look at the five most anticipated PSVR2 games coming out in 2023. And, based on what we've seen so far, the PSVR2 still has a lot in store for us.

5. Arizona Sunshine 2

Arizona Sunshine 2 - Reveal Trailer | PS VR2 Games

The original Arizona Sunshine was released in 2016 when the VR craze was still first on the come up. It wasn't the most profound title at the time, but it did provide a fun and ludicrous VR zombie game. So much so that it earned itself a sequel and it's looking to be lightyears ahead of its predecessor. Which we hope, given that the last title was released seven years ago. Nonetheless, it's sizing up to be one of the most anticipated PSVR2 games coming out in 2023.

Filling the shoes of the same dark-humored protagonist, it appears you'll be facing the end of the world once more, slaying some Freds (what the protagonist refers to as zombies). However, you don't have to do it alone. As you'll be accompanied by your four-legged friend, Buddy. Not only is he one of the nicest boys around, but he's also a Fred-slaying machine. Along with a roster of new guns and a brand-new melee system, Arizona Sunshine 2 looks to be an exciting adventure we can't wait to step into.

4. Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2

Five Nights at Freddy's Help Wanted 2 - Teaser Trailer | PS VR2 Games

Even almost a decade after the original game was released, Five Nights at Freddy's is still pulling strong. As 2023 looks to be the year the game takes over once again. We've got a Five Nights at Freddy's movie that was announced, followed by the Security Breach DLC, and now we have to gear up for Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2. In all honesty, we don't know if our hearts can take all that, but we're willing to give it a try.

Although little is known about the sequel, you can expect another harrowing adventure with plenty of jumpscares. And, thanks to virtual reality, you can't hide from them. Seriously, who let this game come to VR? Wasn't it already terrifying enough? Nonetheless, Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated PSVR2 games coming out in 2023. And it looks like it will scare our socks off once again with a handful of new minigames, this time with the added benefit of the PSVR2's enhanced graphics.

3. Crossfire: Sierra Squad

Crossfire: Sierra Squad - Gameplay Trailer | PS VR2 Games

Thanks to the new and improved tech in the PSVR2, games are able to take their VR experience to new levels of immersion. One game that's looking to make full use of this in the FPS genre is Crossfire: Sierra Squad. Announced for the PSVR2 and releasing in 2023, this VR FPS title sees you leading an elite fireteam in the middle of a war over a top-secret biochemical weapon. And the gunfight action that it encompasses looks to be top-notch and something we can't wait to get our hands on.

Better yet, the game knows exactly where its strong suit lies: the gunfight action. As a result, they full-loaded on that aspect. There are over 60 campaign missions and 39 different weapons to try out, including pistols, rifles, throwables, and grenades, among others, which you can put to the test against the 17 different types of enemies. Safe to say, Crossfire: Sierra Squad is packed to the brim with content and should make for one of the best PSVR2 games coming out in 2023.

2. Green Hell VR

Green Hell VR - First Gameplay Trailer | PS VR2 Games

Really looking to push the limits of the PSVR2, Green Hell VR is an open-world survival game set in the Amazonian rainforest. You play as famous anthropologist Jake Higgins, and your only tools are a watch, a backpack, and a handy survival guide. With just that at your disposal, and the tools and weapons you craft for yourself, you must brave the rainforest's threats, ward off predators, and find a way back to civilization before the jungle claims your name.

As of now, it looks to be one of the most thrilling PSVR2 survival games coming out in 2023. At the same time, the concept appears to be quite ambitious, and we're curious how it will be realized. The jungle itself looks dense, with a lot constantly at play. As a result, we begin to worry if they're over-eyeing the PSVR2's capabilities. Nonetheless, if they succeed, they will invite more survival games to release on VR in order to take the genre to the next level of immersion.

1. Vampire: The Masquerade – Justice

Vampire: The Masquerade - Justice | Announcement Trailer | Meta Quest 2 + 3 + Pro

Vampire: The Masquerade series is finally making its way to VR with Vampire: The Masquerade – Justice. Although shown on the Meta Quest, this spin-off in the series is coming to PSVR2. Set in Venice, you obviously play as a vampire in this single-player adventure RPG. What we know so far, is that the game will have a main narrative, a host of side missions, and even dialogue options. We're just got no insight into what the narrative is built around just yet.

Either way, we'll be able to find out when the game releases, sometime this year. However, you can expect to quench your thirst for blood and find answers to the larger mystery in Venice's dark and narrow streets. As one of the most anticipated PSVR2 games coming out in 2023, we have a feeling it could surprise and exceed many people's expectations.
