Minecraft 1.19, The Wild Update, has a Release Date
Minecraft 1.19, The Wild Update, which contains new biomes, new mobs, and a slew of other goodies, now has a release date. Mojang revealed the release date on Twitter, stunning players with the news they had been waiting for.
The first major additions to the Wild Update's Mangrove Swamp biome include Mangrove trees and mud blocks, a new natural resource that players can craft. New biomes such as Deep Dark, formerly scheduled for the Caves & Cliffs upgrade, are also part of the update.
As the name suggests, the Deep Dark biome is Minecraft‘s darkest location ever, located below the present bedrock layer. Curious explorers will find ruins of a long-decayed civilization as well as the eerie Wardens, a horde of eyeless thugs. The Warden will finally be available as a stand-alone character after the developer teased it for version 1.17. It's been in pre-releases, betas, and snapshots, but the 1.19 upgrade will make it available to everyone.
Wave cautiously to the warden, become friends with the frog, and make the acquaintance of the allay, #TheWildUpdate arrives with a roar on June 7!

The update also includes the Allay and frogs. The Allay is a helpful flying critter that won the Minecraft Live Mob Vote. Firefly-eating frogs commonly appear in marshes and mangrove swamps in the game. Players can raise them from tadpoles in various biomes. The biome in which players raise them will determine their adult look.
Finally, The Wild Update introduces a new type of watercraft that has a chest for additional storage. According to a recent blog post by the game's developer, Mojang, you can “fill it with whatever your expedition calls for,” including “all the cakes you can carry.”
