Call of Duty Warzone 2: 5 Best Tips for Beginners

 on

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 has arrived for Call of Duty Modern Warfare II and a lot has changed. Of course, the goal is still to be the last man standing in the battle royale, but the gameplay has changed significantly thanks to a new map, a new circle layout, and a slew of minor tweaks. That's why we're here to help with the best Warzone 2.0 tips for beginners, so you can quickly dominate the battlefield. And, if you're lucky, you can get five consecutive wins to unlock the new Nuke.

5. Get Your Custom Loadout Fast

One thing that hasn't changed in Warzone 2.0, is that your custom weapon is far superior to the floor loot weapons found throughout the map. Not only will you feel more comfortable with them, but you will also most likely hit more shots and win more fights. That's why one of the best tips for beginners of Warzone 2.0, remains, getting your custom loadout, as early as you can. However, now there a three different ways for you to get your custom weapon in Warzone 2.0.

You can now purchase weapons from your loadout at Buy Stations. Each custom weapon costs $5,000, but you can get them right at the start of the game, which is typically when you have a subpar floor weapon. While this is quicker than getting a supply drop, they are still a viable option because you can obtain your entire loadout rather than just the weapon itself. However, if you see a loadout drop that no one is near, go up to it because loadout drops are now accessible to everyone. That means, other players can also grab their custom loadout from your supply drop.

The final method to getting your custom weapon in Warzone 2.0 is from Strongholds. These are AI-protected locations, and if you clear them out, you get rewarded with high-tier loot and sometimes a loadout drop.

4. Make The Most of Money & Buy Stations

On the same note as custom loadouts, Buy Stations are your best friend in Warzone 2.0. They give you the tools to turn the tide in fights and give you a winning edge when everything else seems bleak. Specifically, obtaining a Self-Revive Kit, 3-Plate Armor Vest, UAV, and Mortor Strike can be game changers, especially in the late game. That's why, if things go wrong, you should always have a backup plan ready. The only problem is that you'll need a lot of money to have this equipment and killstreaks by your side all game.

The best way to get money is by picking up Contracts. And the one we highly suggest is Safecracker. This contract marks three safes for you to find and blow open, resulting in some pretty top-tier loot. Aside from lump sums of cash, the Safecracker contract can get you self-revive kits and killstreaks. The original items we're grabbing money for. So, keep in mind that one of the best Warzone 2.0 tips for beginners is to get equipment and kill streaks from the buy station or Safecracker contract.

3. Interrogating Enemies

tips for beginners

A new feature of Warzone 2.0 is interrogating enemies. When you've downed an enemy you'll have the option to interrogate them. This takes a few seconds, but once finished, you'll receive information that temporarily marks their teammates on the map. This is obviously one of those tips for beginners that you should utilize endlessly because it can quickly turn a losing fight into an easy squad wipe. Not only that, but you may be able to save your teammates from being sneaked up on and downed. Overall, you'll want to interrogate downed enemies every chance you get. But remember to pick and choose when to do it, because if you're caught trying to interrogate someone in the middle of a fight, you'll make a sitting duck of yourself.

2. Learn the Map

tips for beginners

Evidently, the biggest change to Warzone 2.0 is the new map, Al Mazrah. Filled with 18 drop locations and canals running in between, the environment in which fights take place has changed significantly. That's why one of the best tips for beginners of Warzone 2.0, is to learn the new map best you can – preferably like the back of your hand. It's no secret that outplaying and out-maneuvering opponents is a surefire way to win a fight in Call of Duty. However, you can only do that if you have the map knowledge for it.

That's why granting yourself a few matches to learn the map and the best drop locations, will pay off for you hugely in the long run. Obviously, the more you play in general the more comfortable you'll get with this, so with that said, play as much as you can. Another great way to learn the map is by playing the DMZ game mode. This is a survival game mode similar to Warzone, but instead of trying to be the last one standing, you extract as a team. It's much slower-paced, and you mostly fight AI camps, which will help you learn the layout of the map.

1. New Circle Collapse

tips for beginners

Second, to the map, one of the biggest changes, as well as an original idea for a battle royale game, is the new end game circle collapse. Instead of just one giant circle collapsing and forcing players to fight until only one person can stand, Warzone 2.0 reinvents the game by introducing a three-circle system. Now, three circles can appear on the map, all separated by the gas. This forces players to secure one of the circles, instead of having teams hug the outside of one giant circle and wait for it to close in.

Eventually, these three circles will converge to a middle point between them, then it's your typical, late-game, tiny circle situation. However, you must be prepared for when these circles change. You don't want to be on the outskirts of one and have to run halfway across the map to get to the next zone when they converge. But as one of those tips for beginners, don't be alarmed when you see the storm circle do this late-game; instead, use it to your advantage.
