Games Like Blood Servants

Dungeon crawler games are a staple for most RPG fans who enjoy traversing scary dungeons and overcoming the most challenging bosses and puzzles on the map. For others, it’s the thrill of the hack-and-slash feature as players fight and loot along the way. Well, that’s what the video game developer One Shark captures in Blood Servants. With only a trailer, Beta test sign-ups, and an unannounced release date, you can tell that Blood Servants is set to be the hack-and-slash dungeon crawler of the year.

In this RPG, the gameplay begins with you in a dungeon, hungry and weakened. You have no idea how or why all your powers have been stripped off. But you surely remember that you need to regain your power. So what’s next? Venture into the vast Blood Servant dungeon lands as you kill and loot in a vigorous quest for strength. The game offers a long enough adventure as you crawl seven dungeons that always have you eager to see what’s coming next. For those who yearn for a close feel of its gameplay, here are 5 best games like Blood Servants.

5. Noita

Game Noita

Forget the earth-shattering wastelands as you scour the land for unknown mysteries. Developed by Nolla Games, Noita was launched in 2020, following its early 2019 access. Here, players create spells, so essentially, you create spells players use to strike enemies on Blood Servants. Noita allows players to create their spells and use them in their adventures. You will traverse coal mines and ice-control a sorcerer who uses the spells to fight the creatures in the 2D world.

The creatures are inspired by Finnish mythology, with all pixels physically simulated. Defeat your enemies by exploring, burning, fighting, freezing, and evaporating your way across the dungeon worlds using your spells. But once you die, you can only use the skills you’ve learned in the last trials to move to the next level, as the game follows a permadeath system.

4. Crypt of the Necrodancer

Crypt of the Necrodancer game

Crypt of the Necrodancer is a roguelike exploration video game from Brace Yourself Games. It’s a popular dungeon-crawling game that brings the hack-and-slash element of Blood Servants in a unique gameplay based on the soundtrack’s rhythm. The developer blends the game with a Danny Baranowsky soundtrack, and gameplay is most effective when you move the player to the soundtrack's beat.

Typically, you’re required to master the movement of the other characters to avoid missing a beat. But what makes the game stand out the most is the ability to pick a custom soundtrack on which to play. During the gameplay, you pick a character and descend the dungeons, moving or attacking while maintaining the beat and avoiding being harmed by the striking monsters. Killing the enemies continuous

3. Torchlight 2

Torchlight II - E3 2019 Console Announcement Trailer | PS4

Runic Games released Torchlight 2 in 2012 as a sequel to the original game to continue the role-playing dungeon crawl adventure in the original installation.  In this game, you choose a player from four characters, each with unique skills and abilities. However, the title supports both single and multiplayer gameplay. Everything starts with the rundown of Torchlight by the alchemist, so the player trails the world in search of a cure for the insane illness.

Like with the prequel and Blood Servants, Torch Light 2’s gameplay happens in randomly selected dungeons. There are many monsters to battle along the fantasy worlds, which helps players build their experience and increase their loot. They also have numerous weapons and armor, including unlimited spells. However, the weapons are specific to certain classes, so you cannot use every weapon in every class. But characters are customizable so that you can choose the sex, color, hairstyle, and face.

2. Enter the Gungeon

Enter the Gungeon Game

For those who love to build it up all again in permadeath system games, Enter the Gungeon is a great choice if you want to try a dungeon crawler. The 2016 roguelike video game from Dodge Roll follows a storyline of the exploration of the misfits in their quest for personal absolution. Immerse yourself in shooting, looting, and table-flipping to get to the ultimate treasure, the legendary Gungeon’s gun that kills the past.

Players can choose a hero, usually known as a Gungeoneer, or team up to play in co-op and traverse the scary Gungeon to the bottom. Each of the Guneoneers is an unlikely hero who is burdened by regrets about the past. They are all ready to alter their past at any cost, which explains their mix of desperation and courage to find the ultimate treasure. No Gungeoneer will hesitate to jump across the flaming walls or dive through the bullet walls to achieve the mission. But even more exciting is the collection of exotic and conventional weapons players can access. From five different gun types to lasers, missiles, the rainbow run, and the least expected, bees! Combine the illustrious weaponry with tactics to subdue the fearsome bosses that come equally armed.

1. Diablo

Gameplay Diablo

Diablo 4 is the 2023 version of the legendary Diablo series, and the fourth major installation of the Blizzard Entertainment works. It’s the epitome of Blood Servant’s hack-and-slash feature, with endless action to slaughter enemies and amass loot. Like with its sequels, Diablo 4 still features character builds based on their loot, game replayability, and the systematic dungeon worlds. However, the requels lacked open-world gameplay and player-to-player combat, which are available in this installation.

The gameplay is mainly based on exploring the vast map while accumulating different equipment from enemies to increase your strength. The game categorizes enemies into monster families based on their location on the map, theme, and combat style. You can distinguish between family members from their weapons and stances, among other attributes. Players can also meet for trades or team up against the world bosses.
