Diablo 4 Already Has Two Expansions in the Works

With Diablo 3 failing to meet gamers' expectations, Blizzard needed a success out of Diablo 4. Especially considering the previous installment was released over a decade ago. As a result, there was a lot of built-up tension for a good release with the next installment in the series. Despite the fact that Diablo 4 doesn't officially launch until tomorrow, June 6, fans of the series are already getting their hands on it thanks to early access. And, from what we can tell so far, Diablo 4 is off to a great start, receiving positive feedback and reviews. However, Blizzard may have already anticipated this considering they already have two Diablo 4 expansions in the works.
Diablo's general manager Rod Fergusson casually mentioned in an interview with Kinda Funny Games that the studio is already working on not one, but two Diablo 4 expansions. “As I sit here we're about to launch the main game, we're finishing up Season One, we're working on Season Two, we're working on Expansion One, we're kicking off Expansion Two”. Fergusson went on to say, “We're working on that now [laughs] and we haven't even launched the game.”
Don't worry, Rod; we recognize the irony and are laughing along with you. But mostly in hysterical joy because we didn't expect the news to arrive so quickly.

What to Expect from the Diablo 4 Expansions
Although Fergusson mentioned the two Diablo 4 expansions, he didn't reveal anything about them. The good news, however, is that there will be not one, but two expansions. Because with expansion two already in development, that could mean the first one will be ready to ship off sooner than expected. Especially with Diablo 4 being a live service title, it's easier for them to bring in more content. “Live service allows for more content in seasons compared to Diablo 3,” said Fergusson.
