How to Get Rewards For Watching Twitch Streams

Published

 on

For those of you who are unaware, you can get in-game loot, for your favorite games, by watching Twitch streams. Whether you know about Twitch rewards already, like Drops, getting and claiming them can be a little confusing. That's why we want to make it simple for you with this guide on how to get rewards for watching Twitch streams!

What are Twitch Rewards?

Twitch rewards are known as “Drops”, and they are unlocked by watching a participating channel, for a set amount of time. Participating channels will have a “Drops enabled” tag below their title. The time requirement is set by the game developer and you can only gain progress on a reward, for one channel at a time. Some rewards require you to earn progress for a previous reward before you can start making progress toward the specific Drop you want.

How to Connect Your Account

The most important aspect that most people miss about Drops, is that you will need to be logged in to Twitch and have your game account linked to your Twitch account. You do this by clicking on your profile in the top right corner and choosing the “Drops” tab. From here click on “All Campaigns” and you can see all applicable games that have Drops. Click on the game you want to receive rewards for and there will be a purple “Connect” button below it.

Click “Connect” and you will be transferred to a pop-up window. This will ask you to sign in and confirm your account through an email code. Once done you will again be transferred to another window with an “Authorize” button. Click that, and from there you will sign in using your specific game account email and password. Then, once all is done, you can start making progress towards the Twitch Drops and rewards you want!

Claiming Twitch Drops

Once you have connected your account, claiming rewards is simple. Again, simply click on you're profile, select the “Drops” tab and then select “Inventory”. From here you can see your “In progress” on current rewards, and under “Claimed” can claim all the Drop you got for watching the channel. Also, under the “All Campaigns” tab, by clicking on a specific game, you can see what requirements you need to meet in order to earn specific Drops!
