5 Best Sci-fi Games on PSVR

The sci-fi genre has always captivated gamers, regardless of console or system. You have a mix of science and technology that is unrestricted by its fictional boundaries, which usually sees the ideas taken to an extreme level of unheard futuristic concepts. Most of the time, this results in some sort of space exploration. Nonetheless, there are numerous concepts that can arise from the premise. But what better way to enjoy it than in the most immersive way possible with PSVR? And, in anticipation of what's to come on the PSVR 2, we'd like to review the best Sci-fi games on PSVR in this list. So, let's see which games will satisfy your desire for futuristic adventure.

You may have heard of EVE: Online before, as it's an extremely popular space MMORPG. So much so, that the game was calling for a spin-off of its sci-fi adventure on PSVR. The result came in EVE: Valkyrie, a multiplayer dogfighting game set in the cosmos. This first-person shooter set's you in the cockpit of a galactic fighter jet where you must duke it out in a dogfight with other players online.

The game features five game modes, Team Deathmatch, Control, Carrier Assault, Wormholes, and Extraction. You can pick and customize between 13 different spacecraft. Furthermore, you can customize your pilot, hanger, and more. As a result, many consider EVE: Valkyrie one of the best sci-fi games on PSVR, and you'll only find something comparable in Star Wars: Squadrons, another notable sci-fi dogfighting PSVR game.

4. Red Matter

Red Matter - Release Trailer | PS VR

Red Matter turned a lot of heads when its story-driven sci-fi puzzle adventure was first released for PSVR. In this game, you play as Agent Epsilon, an astronaut dispatched to the planet Rhea, one of Saturn's moons, where an abandoned Volgravian base remains. This base is known to have housed a top-secret research project during the height of a fictional dystopic cold war. So, you can only imagine what dark and dangerous secrets lurk in its shadows.

Your mission, which you probably guessed, is to investigate whatever horrors were being conducted here. Needless to say, the game becomes increasingly surreal the more you progress through its dark sci-fi adventure. As a result, Red Matter easily earns its spot as one of the best sci-fi games on PSVR. So, if you're looking for a gripping narrative that will appeal to your sense of dark twisted sci-fi adventure, then you can't go wrong with this title.

3. Star Trek: Bridge Crew

Your entire mission is to find a new and suitable home for the Vulcan people in this stretch of space, but be warned: venturing into unexplored parts of the cosmos is often met with danger.

Together, your Bridge Crew will need to coordinate strategic actions to navigate this new star system and persevere through any threats that stand in your way. After completing the storyline, you can continue to play Star Trek: Bridge Crew indefinitely thanks to its “Ongoing Missions,” which are procedurally generated and offer a new and exciting experience each playthrough. Nonetheless, there are numerous reasons why Star Trek: Bridge Crew deserves to be considered one of the best sci-fi games on PSVR.
