The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me — Is It Official?

Pictures

Supermassive Games has officially registered a trademark application for The Dark Pictures: The Devil In Me. Although little detail has been shed on the project, Trademarks have published the logo for the mystery title as well as a description to embellish it. Apart from that, neither Supermassive nor Bandai have mentioned anything on the subject, which begs the question will this be a sequel or a spin-off under the same domain? Sadly, your guess is as good as ours.

Having said that, going by The Dark Pictures release schedule, specifically with Man of Medan and Little Hope, it’s likely this could be the fourth chapter to the series. But don’t take our word on that. We’re just looking at this with a glass half full sort of attitude, though Supermassive could very well sink the hopes altogether before year’s end.

Trademarks published the description behind the title and logo…

“The mark consists of the word THE on top of the words DARK PICTURES, stacked on top of the words THE DEVIL IN ME. The letter V in the word DEVIL is stylized, with a magnifying glass attached to the bottom of the letter V. On the left of the mark, there is a left-facing skull with a compass inside the skull.”

While we don’t know a great deal about what’s to come for The Dark Pictures, we do know that come October 22, the third main chapter titled “House of Ashes” will release on Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. You can follow the updates for the game and check out the details surrounding the next chapter on the official handle here.

So, what do you think? Could this be the next tale unravelling early? Will the curator be back to spill the gore for 2022 with a fresh set of characters and settings? Let us know your take over on our socials.
