Respawn Working on New Single-Player Game Set in Apex Universe

Apex Universe single-player

The smallest suggestion that a new game is “maybe in the works” isn't missed by today's gamers very much. Respawn Entertainment is the source of the most recent information regarding a potential new single-player game, set in the Apex Universe. The “Career” section on their website now has new listings for “New Game Incubation Team” and “Apex Universe FPS Incubation”. With more than a few of the job listing descriptions for Apex Universe stating that it's “a brand new Respawn singleplayer adventure.”

If we take a step back and look at the new listings, the majority of them are coming in Software Development, Game Design, and Art. This really makes the evidence for a new single-player Apex Universe game, highly viable. However, some fans have another idea of what this mystery game could be. And their guess is that it is no other than Titanfall 3. This isn't a far stretch when you consider Apex Legends is set in the Titanfall universe. Hence the “Apex Universe” listing is a clever cover-up for Titanfall 3.

So there is a possibility that the “Apex Universe” title, along with the single-player description is supporting either a solo Apex Legends game or even better Titanfall 3. To further add to this, Respawn also Tweeted last year, that they're not quite done with the Titanfall series just yet. Which makes a strong argument for Titanfall 3.

Apex Legends or TitanFall 3?

You can make a case for the mystery game being either title, however, even more, intriguing is a crossover. Apex Legends is set in Titanfalls universe and has already incorporated Ash and Blisk from Titanfalls story, into Apex Legends battle royale. So it's not a far stretch for a cross-over, however, a lot would have to be considered for it to be possible.

If we had to place a gamble right now, we'd say the single-player Apex Legends game is taking shape. Each character already has a decent amount of lore that fans are invested into. Additionally, a fresh cinematic trailer is released for each season, which typically deepens the character relationships. However, all of this is solely speculation and there is no concrete evidence just yet. Guess that means we'll just have to wait and see.

So, what's your take? What are your conspiracies behind the job listings? Do you think Respawn is making a single-player Apex Universe game in Apex Legends, or Titanfall? Which would you prefer? Let us know in the comments below or over on our socials here!
