Star Wars IPs

American video game developer Respawn Entertainment (developer of Apex Legends and the Titanfall) is making gaming headlines over an announcement of its upcoming Star Wars IPs

The announcement, delivered in a press release from Lucasfilm Games and EA detailed that the game development franchise is working on the next Star Wars Jedi title, a strategy game, and also a first-person shooter game.

“We are excited to continue working with the superbly talented teams at Respawn. They have demonstrated excellence in telling epic Star Wars stories along with best-in-class gameplay across different genres,“ said Lucasfilm Games VP Douglas Reilly.

“Shepherding the next installment in the Star Wars Jedi story is game director Stig Asmussen of Respawn,” stated the press release. Additionally, the announcement explained that two new teams will come on board to help in development.

The first team will develop Star Wars’ new first-person shooter game. This team will be under the expert guidance of game director Peter Hirschmann. Hirschmann has a long and accomplished history with Star Wars, having worked as Battlefront’s Executive Producer.

The final game on Respawn’s upcoming development, is a Star Wars strategy game. The game will loop in the newly formed studio Bit Reactor through a production collaboration. Bit Reactor will spearhead the development while Respawn's team heads the production.  Additionally, to hold things in place, gaming industry veteran Greg Foerstch will oversee the project.

Respawn has made a name for itself in the gaming industry. The developer is clearly intent on bringing in the next generation of epic video games. There’s no mention of when we should expect the games release dates. But going by what the developer delivers this production should be worth our anticipation.
