All Courses in Mario Kart World, Ranked

Navigating a large, open world is arguably one of the best perks of playing video games. That, paired with racing, feels even more eccentric. In this title, players take part in a kart racing game with up to 50 playable characters to choose from. Twenty-four of these characters have special advantages, such as unlockable costumes, while the rest act as obstacles on the tracks. Aside from that, Mario Kart World introduces off-roading techniques and an elimination mode to spice up the match. Below, we discuss and rank all the courses presented in Mario Kart World.

10. Acorn Heights

Acorn Heights

You get to experience a fulfilling and heartfelt journey through a vibrant jungle-based track. You’ll bounce off mushrooms and charge through trees filled with acorns. Comically, the acorns are almost three times the size of your character, which only adds to the excitement of moving around them. Regardless, you might not enjoy the outcome of one of those giant things falling on you. Despite the fact that the Mario Kart franchise has had jungle-themed courses before, Archon Heights portrays an assortment of all their best features.

9. Crown City

Crown City

Here, players get to experience a colorful, exciting world filled with secrets. You line up in a solarpunk-style adorned area with drones floating around skyscrapers. The course is one of the best environments to play in, and Nintendo has included it in many cups. However, players always get a completely different experience racing across this city. It has so many environments to explore, including the central main stretch, side roads cutting across different buildings, a construction site hanging above the city, and streets, among others.

8. DK Spaceport

DK Spacesports

In this course, you navigate tracks with huge barrels rushing toward you. A large robotic ape positioned at the end is throwing them down. The original Donkey Kong game serves as the inspiration for DK Spaceport. However, it has a few alterations, such as the spaceship and the robotic donkey. Players who interacted with the original game have an advantage with this course because they will feel familiar with the design. However, new players will also get a kick out of this title over the intensity of its gameplay.

7. Sky-High Sundae

All Courses in Mario Kart World

Everybody loves ice cream. Well, almost everybody. The track has been featured before in Wave 2 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pack. However, in this title, it has received several upgrades that give its gameplay an entirely new feel. The upgrades clearly define the difference between the two games and offer a unique view of taking part in each one. Aside from that, it includes a new ice cream-themed outfit for several of its characters that pairs well with the surroundings of the track.

6. Starview Peak

All Courses in Mario Kart World

In this course, players line up on an icy road with a sign that faces the castle peaks from the game’s world. They then take off down the path at high speeds, occasionally curving through a series of roads. To succeed, you have to perfectly plan out your drifts. The second part of the game has you coursing over a beautiful cosmic water road that’s wider than the first. So, players get a better opportunity to get ahead of their competition. However, the chances of losing your position also increase.

5. Whistlestop Summit

All Courses in Mario Kart World

Players are placed in a train station-themed area with train tracks on the side. Unlike other games in the series, Mario Kart World has grind rails that add more variety to jumps and other tricks. Additionally, the primary focus of running this course is geared towards rails. On your journey, you’ll have access to at least one, adding a layer of strategy that makes your path unique. Learning how to maneuver through them will help you complete the gameplay. Also, it is best to switch between rails often to avoid being an easy target for your rivals.

4. Peach Beach

All Courses in Mario Kart World

It is a retro setting built behind a pink background in the middle of the day. You begin by taking a lap in a classic beach-bound circuit. However, the second and third laps get better and let you experience a whole other dimension. Players get to go to the beach and dive into the town beside it. Additionally, they can glide, wall jump, and perform all manner of tricks till they make it back to the sea for the final lap that concludes the race.

3. Dino Dino Jungle

All Courses in Mario Kart World

There’s a thrill that arises out of interacting with creatures we know to be extinct in this day and age. Some are vicious, some friendly, but that’s the beauty of navigating the Dino Dino jungle. As you race along this course, you get to watch them living out their normal lives. However, every once in a while, you have to dodge the feet or teeth of the huge, aggressive creatures. The best way to enjoy this path is during the Free Roam mode. Here, players can even chart a course on top of their tails and bounce close to the more friendly beasts.

2. Boo Cinema

All Courses in Mario Kart World

As the name suggests, you can expect all manner of ghosts and gnarly images to accompany you during your race. It is centered around an old haunted museum. Though short, players get to witness a completely different perspective on what creativity in a game looks like. You jump through the screen of the cinema and go behind the scenes of the film. After, players race their rivals along filmstrips that portray a shocked Peach. As you do this, the atmosphere is filled with a lot of ghosts laughing at the sidelines.

1. Rainbow Road

All Courses in Mario Kart World

Often, players describe Rainbow Road as the best unlockable course in this title. It includes a four-lap marathon that is inspired by other versions of this course in previous games. It consists of intergalactic parts, combined with more mechanical spaceship elements in the third round. Furthermore, the laps are divided using beautiful glides that have many hidden details. For instance, there is a train at the end harboring many characters from regions in the Mario Kart World.
