For the most part, WWE 2k25’s gameplay remains intact from its predecessor. So, you can expect to play the usual one-on-one wrestling matches with hopefully improved mechanics. The new game will feature the Showcase mode, backstage brawls, and even Royal Rumble matches.
However, there are some key changes to note. Key above them all is the introduction of intergender matches. This means you’ll have more room to come up with some exciting matchups.
Moreover, you can look forward to chain wrestling. This’ll doubtlessly be adrenaline-packed with online players in tow. It’s possible the controls can be a little tricky but if Visual Concepts executes it right, complete with seamless controls and exciting cinematics, then the global gaming community may be in for a hella good time.
Lastly, there are subtle changes WWE 2k25 promises that you’ll soon discover once you play through the game. There are changes to the submission mechanic, for example. The wrestling mechanics are spot on as are the game modes and immense roster. As such, it’s unsurprising that WWE 2k25 retains most of the original’s flair, only tweaking a few of its game modes.
The core gameplay will likely receive a few subtle changes that may go unnoticed. And yet, you cannot ignore the addition of the new open-world mode or the introduction of intergender wrestling to the franchise.
Both have been long-awaited, and frankly, about time they made it to the series. All of these factors combined makes WWE 2k25 a definite better title compared to WWE 2k24. There’s a chance the gameplay may feel largely the same.

Es ist jedoch das 10. Spiel unter dem WWE 2K-Banner, das auf das WWE 2k23 vom 14. März 2023 folgt. WWE 2k24 zeigt “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, der zusammen mit Bianca Blair und Rhea Ripley auf dem offiziellen Cover des Spiels zu sehen ist. Hardcore-Fans der WWE können deren Karrieregeschichten im WrestleMania’s 2K Showcase of the Immortals-Spielmodus verfolgen.
Darüber hinaus kann man die Modi MyRISE, MyFACTION und MyGM spielen oder die brandneuen Matchtypen Gast-Schiedsrichter und Gauntlet wählen. Mit dem zurückkehrenden Season Pass genießen die Spieler einen noch größeren Kader von über 20 weiteren Superstars und Popkultur-Ikonen wie Post Malone und Pat McAfee über fünf Post-Launch-DLC-Packs.
Was ist WWE 2k25?
WWE 2k25 hingegen ist das bevorstehende Sport-Videospiel zum professionellen Wrestling, das auf WWE 2k24 folgt. Es soll am 7. März 2025 erscheinen. In einer höchst spannenden Enthüllung wird der Superstar Roman Reigns auf dem Cover des neuen Spiels zu sehen sein, sowie The Undertaker auf der Deadman-Edition.
Des Weiteren wird WWE 2k25 über 300 Superstars, Legenden und Hall of Famer zum kommenden Kader hinzufügen, wie nie zuvor. Zum ersten Mal werden Spieler auch den Ring verlassen und auf The Island treten können, eine WWE-thematisierte Welt, die für die PS5 und Xbox Series X/S kuratiert wird.
Hier spielt man durch mehrere epische Arenen, nimmt verschiedene Herausforderungen an und trifft auf Live-Events. Eine weitere aufregende Neuerung für die WWE 2K-Reihe ist das Intergender-Wrestling.
Zudem bleiben die Spielmodi von WWE 2k24 größtenteils erhalten, doch MyRISE erhält insbesondere eine komplett neue, vereinheitlichte Handlung, die frische Prügelumgebungen, freischaltbare Arenen und Charaktere hinzufügt.
MyGM wird wiederum einen Online-Multiplayer für bis zu vier Spieler enthalten. Währenddessen kann man sich auf die Rückkehr des Chain Wrestling sowie auf Universe Promos freuen.
Handlung
Die größte Veränderung bei der Handlung ist der neue Open-World-Modus. Dies ist keine völlig unbekannte Funktion, die NBA 2Ks The City nachzuahmen scheint. Während The City seine Höhen und Tiefen hat, ist es insgesamt ein aufregender Ort, um zu tun, was man will.
Man kann durch eine Open-World-Stadt streifen und Streetball mit NPCs spielen. Der Erfolg von The Island in WWE 2k25 wird letztendlich von der akribischen und immersiven Umsetzung durch Visual Concepts abhängen. Es muss Spaß machen und sich wie ein tatsächlich lebendiger Ort anfühlen.
Gameplay
Zum größten Teil bleibt das Gameplay von WWE 2k25 seinem Vorgänger treu. Man kann also die üblichen One-on-One-Wrestling-Matches mit hoffentlich verbesserten Mechaniken erwarten. Das neue Spiel wird den Showcase-Modus, Backstage-Brawls und sogar Royal Rumble-Matches enthalten.
Es gibt jedoch einige wichtige Änderungen zu beachten. Die wichtigste davon ist die Einführung von Intergender-Matches. Das bedeutet, man hat mehr Spielraum, um aufregende Matchups zu kreieren.
Darüber hinaus kann man sich auf Chain Wrestling freuen. Dies wird zweifellos adrenalingeladen sein, besonders mit Online-Spielern. Die Steuerung könnte etwas knifflig sein, aber wenn Visual Concepts es richtig umsetzt, mit nahtloser Steuerung und aufregenden Cinematics, dann könnte die globale Gaming-Community eine verdammt gute Zeit haben.
Schließlich gibt es subtile Änderungen, die WWE 2k25 verspricht und die man bald entdecken wird, sobald man das Spiel durchspielt. Es gibt beispielsweise Änderungen an der Submission-Mechanik. Außerdem sollen Matches flüssiger ablaufen. Man kann Possum-Angriffe von verschiedenen Seiten ausführen. Man kann Pinfall-Reversals auf natürlichere Weise in Sekundenbruchteilen ausführen.
Paybacks werden etwas weniger kosten, Barrikadentauchen wurde hinzugefügt, und Tag-Team-Matches werden fairer sein, wenn man sich aus einem Pin befreit. Zusammengenommen sollen diese subtilen Änderungen das Gameplay von WWE 2k25 flüssiger, dynamischer und letztendlich unterhaltsamer machen.
Grafik
Was die Grafik angeht, so ist sie bei jährlichen Franchises immer eine gemischte Angelegenheit. Wenn die Grafik bereits den Gipfel des Realismus erreicht hat, wird es schwierig, signifikante Veränderungen vorzunehmen.
Aber die frühen Screenshots zeigen Verbesserungen in der Gesichtsstruktur. Einige Superstars erhalten mehr Liebe zum Detail als andere. Man würde beispielsweise erwarten, dass Roman Reigns, der Cover-Superstar, verdammt nah an der Perfektion aussieht.
Fazit: WWE 2K24 vs. WWE 2K25
Jährliche Franchises machen nicht immer große Sprünge in Handlung und Gameplay. Allerdings verspricht WWE 2k25 einige bedeutende Veränderungen, die, wenn sie gut umgesetzt werden, eine wirklich großartige Zeit bedeuten könnten. WWE 2k24 schien seinen Höhepunkt erreicht zu haben.
Die Wrestling-Mechaniken sitzen genau wie die Spielmodi und der immense Kader. Daher ist es nicht überraschend, dass WWE 2k25 den Großteil des Flairs des Originals beibehält und nur einige seiner Spielmodi anpasst.
Das Kern-Gameplay wird wahrscheinlich einige subtile Änderungen erhalten, die unbemerkt bleiben könnten. Und doch kann man die Hinzufügung des neuen Open-World-Modus oder die Einführung von Intergender-Wrestling in das Franchise nicht ignorieren.
Beides wurde lange erwartet, und ehrlich gesagt, ist es höchste Zeit, dass sie es in die Serie schaffen. All diese Faktoren zusammengenommen machen WWE 2k25 zu einem definitiv besseren Titel im Vergleich zu WWE 2k24. Es besteht die Chance, dass sich das Gameplay größtenteils gleich anfühlt.
