Indiana Jones and The Great Circle: The Order of Giants – Everything We Know

Just near-perfect ratings across the board for the December 2024 release of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle. Some fans might even argue that the story was so much better than any of the previous movies and films combined. And for any great “Game of the Year” worthy game, a DLC is well-deserved.
If you’ve already uninstalled the base game, I’m sorry to say that you might have to reinstall it again. At least if you’re to continue reveling in the mysteries and iconic adventures of Indy’s world. With a new chapter unfolding real soon, it’s time we gather everything we know so far about the upcoming Indiana Jones and The Great Circle: The Order of Giants.
What is Indiana Jones and The Great Circle: The Order of Giants?

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants is an upcoming DLC package. That means that you’ll need to install the base game, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, to access the DLC. Just like the base game, the DLC will be a first-person, single-player adventure game, taking place between the events in Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade.
Story

Set during the events of the base game, The Order of Giants DLC will take us to Rome, where a darker mystery arises. It’ll be an all-new chapter, following titular Indiana Jones knocking heads with sinister cults. This new adventure will delve deeper into the Nephilim Order from the base game. They are a tribe of giants whose history is far more complex than you could imagine.
Indy sets off on his new adventure, helping a young Father Ricci track down a mysterious artifact. However, the treasure hunt soon grows more dangerous when you begin uncovering more secrets of the Nephilim order. The Nephilim Order’s origins are fallen angels, and over thousands of years, their descendants have formed a secret society aiming to atone for their ancestral sins.
Uncovering their history will lead to discovering new locations and lore. You’ll solve fun puzzles as well, while encountering terrifying enemies, including in the secret gladiator games of Emperor Nero.
Furthermore, you’ll explore areas beyond the Vatican City, the busy streets of Rome, and the heart of Italy as well. All along, you’re uncovering enticing and dark mysteries of the dead, as well as ancient legends of a colossal beast. There’s a sinister cult to contend with, too. Buckle up: new and old threats await.
Gameplay

Like the base game, The Order of Giants DLC will combine story-driven exploration, satisfying combat, and solving intricate puzzles. You’ll follow Indy, the famed archaeologist with a thirst for treasure hunting, mystery solving, and from time to time, enthralling fights. This is a globe-trotting adventure, one where you’ll untangle a spinning web of secrets and mysteries, through to arriving at the final truth.
To get there, you’ll need to forge new alliances and face familiar enemies. You’ll interact with intriguing characters, using your wit and trademark humor to collect information and solve ancient riddles. Of course, Indy’s trademark whip will be part of your toolset. And its use is pretty diverse, from disarming enemy weapons to launching attacks and causing a distraction. It’s also a traversal tool, scaling up walls and swinging over patrols.
Stealth is a huge part of Indy’s survival. But also, melee combat and gunplay when you’re pushed to the corner. Above all, you’ll be pushing forward a linear, story-driven mission with a mix of open-ended maps to explore. Your inner adventurer will call to you to tread deeper into ancient catacombs, unravel fascinating secrets, and solve fun puzzles.
Lurking in the shadows is always something dangerous, intriguing, and, uhm, snakes. It’s ultimately your spirit of discovery and adventure that will eventually help you make the most of your journey.
Development

MachineGames and Bethesda are back at it again, developing and publishing The Order of Giants DLC very soon. While we expect a pretty similar experience to the base game, Production Director John Jennings does promise “something new and unexpected.” He’s definitely excited for what’s to come, and “can’t wait for people to be able to play it for themselves.”
Trailer
Check out the Order of Giants DLC reveal trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase event. It’s pretty much the base game’s alluring ancient temples, life-endangering platforming, and fun puzzles. Except, Bethesda seems to dig deeper into the myths and mysteries of Indy’s crazed adventures.
