Houses in the Harry Potter franchise can cause quite a stir among its fanbase. Allowing players to choose their own House in Hogwarts Legacy has undoubtedly led to some rivalry between the Houses. Whether you choose the courageous Gryffindor, savvy Slytherin, intellectual Ravenclaw, or loyal Hufflepuff, this is undoubtedly a crucial decision in your Hogwarts Legacy journey for players. That said, we believe some houses stand above others due to differences in content. So without further ado, here are answers to the question of Hogwarts Legacy Houses: Which is Better?
4. Ravenclaw
Ravenclaw is a house that has often fallen by the wayside in most of its time in the Harry Potter franchise. Unfortunately, this appears to be a problem that has followed the House into Hogwarts Legacy. For unknown reasons, this House is the only one that doesn’t have a follower that becomes attached to the player’s character. This is undoubtedly strange, considering that the Gryffindor House receives the lovable Natsai Onai, and the other Houses also feature their own companions. So this is definitely something that players will miss out on if they pick Ravenclaw.
Even within the game’s main story, there are only a few notable characters from Ravenclaw to latch on to. This seems odd, but even in the source material, this House always appears to be coming up last, and with few notable characters to speak of and its inclusion in the game, appearing to be not as fleshed out as the other Houses. As a result, Ravenclaw definitely feels significantly worse to play through than the other Houses. At the same time, the House does have Amit Thackker, who often appears. However, little is gained by the player for completing quests alongside him.
3. Gryffindor
Gryffindor is a House that needs little introduction. The stately and prideful red and gold color scheme definitely makes this House appealing to players. This House also has the benefit of being arguably, the most recognizable House, with a well-known Common Room and many other aspects. One of the key benefits of choosing this House over another is the companion that players will receive for joining. As mentioned above, Natsai Onai is a fantastic character in her own right and is terrific to have as a companion in Hogwarts Legacy.
One of the key things that players who choose this House will get to engage with is the House ghost, Nearly-Headless Nick. This is a character that was featured prominently in both books and movies. So picking Gryfiindor can be a fantastic choice for most players. While you would think they would have added even more incentive to play as a Gryffindor. What is provided to players here is serviceable. So if you want to choose this House, it is definitely understandable that players would like to do so.
2. Slytherin
Slytherin is one of the Four Houses that has been shrouded in the most amount of mystery. While there have been notable characters from this House in the past, seeing the House’s environment firsthand is something quite new for the series. The Slytherin robes are all adorned with a black and green color scheme which makes them rather striking and menacing. One of the aspects of this House that is so nice is the placement of their Common Room. Their Common Room is placed under the Grand Staircase and is technically under the lake, making for a striking view.
One of the best aspects of picking this House is in its ability to interact with a rather interesting student. Sebastian Swallow is a student that players will interact with throughout their journey. But if they are in Slytherin, quite a bit more is revealed about them. Known for delving into the Dark Arts to aid his sister, this is certainly an interesting storyline to follow. For these reasons, as well as many more, Slytherin is a fantastic House to choose if it’s your first time playing through Hogwarts Legacy.
1. Hufflepuff
Hufflepuff is a House that, in the source material, was of little note. However, in Hogwarts Legacy, the House holds the best exclusive quest. This quest allows players to visit Azkaban and is the only way that players can do so within the game. Also, players will be able to bear witness to the Patronus charm, which is only available through the Hufflepuff House quest. It is within Azkaban that players will meet Anne, a student from Hogwarts long past, who is being held within the prison’s walls. While there are a few side characters that players can interact with in the other Houses, Hufflepuff is the House that brings most of these characters together.
Appearing in this way in the game is really interesting because, for the most part, the Hufflepuff House has been somewhat of a footnote in the series. This time around, however, it would appear that great focus has been placed on the House. This is interesting because it allows players to experience things in a whole new way. The side characters that you meet while in Hufflepuff House are also the most interesting. You are able to interact with characters such as Arthur Plummly, a rather charming student. As well as Poppy Sweeting, a Ravenclaw character that players will no doubt remember.
Why Hufflepuff is the Best
It is for these reasons that we believe that Hufflepuff is the Best House in Hogwarts Legacy. Because, in many ways, it’s not even close. With access to awesome exclusive quests. Not to mention the ability to interact with many of the game’s more interesting side characters. This House is fantastic for those of us who want to explore the more magical parts of Hogwarts Legacy. So if you, like us, we wondering exactly what the best House in the game is, it is without a doubt that we can declare that Hufflepuff is the true winner of Hogwarts Legacy and becomes the most fleshed-out of Houses in the game.
