Dying Light 2 Will Take 500 Hours to Complete, According to Techland

As developers continue to really push the boat out when it comes to making longer video games, we do have start questioning how far they'll go before drawing the line. Having said that, looking at Persona and its thousands of hours of gameplay, I suppose nothing is off the table these days. Fast-forward a few years and it's looking like the upcoming Dying Light 2 could also be a rather sizeable journey. Well, that's according to the devs, anyway.

Uploaded to the official Twitter account, Techland made it clear that, in order to truly complete Dying Light 2: Stay Human, players will need to put in around 500 hours of gameplay. Of course, that means mopping up side quests, venturing into every possible nook and cranny, and doing all there is to do pre and post-credits. So basically, it's a 500 hour platinum. A very, very high maintenance sort of platinum at that.

Dying Light 2 releases on February 4, 2022.

But what if you're just in it for the story? Well, good news there…

Luckily, for players that just want to soak up the story and hop from one milestone to the next, Dying Light 2 will only require upwards of 70 or 80 hours, which is still a lot compared to most modern video games, to be fair. But then, with price tags on the rise, I suppose more bang for your buck isn't necessarily a bad thing, either.

Whatever the case, you can rest assured that Dying Light 2, however it turns out, will be a pretty lengthy journey. And for all you completionists out there, well — you won't be going hungry with this one. The question is: will you bite off more than you can chew?

Dying Light 2 releases on February 4, 2022 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.
