This game brings a fresh story packed with adventure, mystery, and the strong bond between humans and Digimon. To save everyone, players will have to dig deep to uncover secrets hidden across both worlds. Familiar Digimon are back, new challenges are ahead, and the journey looks more exciting than ever. Here’s all we know so far about Digimon Story: Time Stranger!
What is Digimon Story: Time Stranger?

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is an upcoming RPG that takes you on a wild ride between worlds and through time. Here’s how the devs have described this game: “With the human and digital worlds on the precipice of ruin, explore through time, forge bonds with tamable monsters, and fight to save the worlds from a fateful end in the upcoming RPG.” It’s the next evolution of the Digimon Story series, bringing new ideas while staying true to its roots.
If you’re new to it, the Digimon Story series is all about raising Digimon, fighting enemies, and diving into some deep RPG mechanics. It’s been around for ages, with every game adding its own twist. The series is famous for its strategic turn-based battles, engaging stories, and the freedom to train and evolve your Digimon in different ways.
This time around, the devs are promising something even bigger: a whole new world, a revamped battle system, and a story that pushes the limits of what a Digimon Story game can be. And with slick updated visuals, deeper mechanics, and a fresh take on the series, Time Stranger is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Digimon games in years.
Story

The overall premise of Digimon Story: Time Stranger is that of a world on the verge of destruction. Strange occurrences have started to influence the real world and the Digital World, and the player will travel through time to find out why this is happening, alternating between the past and present Digital Worlds to find out the truth. The player will encounter new and old characters along the way, including legendary Digimon such as Agumon and Omnimon. Also, the game will delve into themes of fate, connection, and bonds.
Gameplay

You’ll get a rich, strategic turn-based combat system with loads of different Digimon to collect, train, and evolve. The battle system’s going to throw in some new mechanics while still keeping bits from the older Digimon Story games. Digivolution isn’t set on one path, so your Digimon can evolve and devolve in a bunch of different ways. This means you can mess around with different party combinations and build a team that totally fits your playstyle. With such a diverse lineup of Digimon, battles will have you thinking on your feet, making team customization a huge part of the experience.
You’ll also be exploring two totally different worlds — the human world and the Digital World: Iliad. Unlike Cyber Sleuth, which focused on artificial cyberspace, this game will feature a more immersive and interactive Digital World. You’ll see Digimon living their lives, running shops, and even giving out quests. These side quests could take you to new areas, with unique environments and interactive elements that might even affect how you play.
The story will have you bouncing between the human world and the Digital World, while also diving into events across time. You’ll uncover the mystery behind the world’s collapse by meeting unique characters and exploring different timelines. Even though they haven’t shared the details on how time travel works yet, your choices might actually change events in both worlds.
Focusing on adventure and discovery, the game is set to offer a bunch of quests and activities beyond just the main story. Expect an expansive world full of spots to explore, mysteries to crack, and new experiences that bring the Digital World to life in a whole new way.
