Best Weapons in Black Myth: Wukong

While Black Myth: Wukong only has staves and spears for the main character, the Monkey King, they vary greatly in strength and power. The more you play, the more new weapons you’ll unlock. What’s more? The weapons can be found not only along the main quest but also in side missions and bonus content. With a little over 20 weapons available, we’re compiling the best weapons in Black Myth: Wukong worth chasing.

10. Cloud-Patterned Stone Staff

For beginners or players still in the early game, you can take your chances with the Cloud-Patterned Stone Staff. It unlocks in chapter two with decent stats. At 60 damage points, you can take down enemies with ease. Also, with every fourth heavy attack, you’ll enjoy inflicting more damage.

Meanwhile, you have your defense covered as well, with 30 defense points. It’s the best of all worlds. Even though you’ll probably trade the staff for a more powerful one later on, it does hold you up well until the mid and late-stage.

9. Chitin Staff

Next up is the Chitin Staff among the best weapons in Black Myth: Wukong. This has a less competitive potency at only 75 damage points and a 5% critical hit chance. Yet, for its relatively lower damage rate, you can aim for successfully charged heavy attacks and gain health stats at the expense of Focus Points. Chitin Staff also unlocks in chapter four.

8. Spider Celestial Staff

Spider Celestial Staff’s stats are impressive off the bat. The staff gives you a decent 85 damage points and a 12% critical hit chance. This helps give you an extra edge over the waves of opponents you’ll face on your quest. Moreover, the staff unlocks the ability to recover your health.

More specifically, whenever you successfully unleash a charged heavy attack, it takes away your Focus Point but also grants you more health points. And lastly, whenever you shift to the Poisoned state, you can also damage enemies with Poison Bane. while you won’t find the staff in the early game, it unlocks just in time for the higher difficulty spike in chapter four.

7. Visionary Centipede Staff

The Visionary Centipede Staff will deal 90 damage points plus a 10% critical hit chance. Further, upon accomplishing a successfully charged heavy attack, you’ll lose one Focus Point in exchange for slight health recovery.

But if you want to further exhaust health recovery, you can shift into a Poisoned State and gain even more health points. You can unlock Visionary Centipede when you complete chapter four.

6. Staff of Blazing Karma

As for the Staff of Blazing Karma, it gives you a whopping 100 damage points, which, while lower than Adept-Spine, does boost its attractiveness with 40 defense and 10 burn resistance points. Also, whenever you pull off a charged heavy attack, you’ll lose three Focus Points but gain the ability to unleash a bursting lava AoE attack.

The staff of Blazing Karma is unlocked in chapter five.

5. Golden Loong Staff

The Golden Loong Staff is a pretty reliable weapon, especially in the early to mid stages. You can even keep upgrading it and carry it through to the end. With a whopping 108 damage points, you’ll have your offense strategy covered.

Meanwhile, you can also exploit your Pillar Stance move, where the staff increases the impact of every damage you inflict. You do so by summoning the staff and using thunder to strike the enemy. However, keep in mind that this move will cost you three to four Focus Points.

4. Dark Iron Staff

Dark Iron Staff covers all bases, giving you 110 damage, five chill resistance, and five burn resistance points. That way, you can enjoy dealing extra damage while protecting your health. But even more so, it allows you to capitalize on your defense to increase your offense.

The more you can successfully defend yourself, the more damage you’ll be able to inflict on enemies. Unfortunately, you can only unlock the staff in the New Game Plus mode.

3. Adept-Spine Shooting Fuban Staff

Adept-Spine Shooting Fuban Staff, on the other hand, shoots its damage points upward up to 120 plus a 25% critical hit chance. They are far better odds, which are further sweetened by the ability to regain health with each successfully charged heavy attack, as well as shooting spines that inflict damage on all nearby enemies during combat.

Unfortunately for the Adept-Spine staff also, you can only unlock it in the New Game Plus mode.

2. Tri-Point Double-Edged Spear

If you’re looking to really boost your offense, you might want to consider wielding the Tri-Point Double-Edged Spear. This powerful weapon comes with a staggering 135 damage points plus a 6% critical hit chance. Further, whenever you combine your light attack combos with your spear abilities, you can enjoy dealing even more damage.

This works especially well using the Thrust Stance move. Or you can try out the Forceful Thrust move, which will unleash swords from your staff and attack nearby enemies. For all its power, it makes sense that the spear can only be unlocked when you discover the secret ending of the game.

1. Jingubang Staff

Jingubang Staff has similar stats to the Tri-Point Double-Edged Spear: 135 damage and 6% critical hit chance. However, you can at least unlock it as early as in chapter six. Furthermore, it comes with a boatload of unique abilities. Take the gift of your fourth Focus Point no longer draining during combat.

Additionally, you can enjoy an increase in your critical hit chance right after you’ve cast a spell. After you execute a successful critical hit, your spells will have less time to cool down. This can really turn the tide in your favor as you take advantage of the loop between casting spells and inflicting critical hits to stun the enemy and win.
