Best Mods for Hogwarts Legacy (2026)

Hogwarts Legacy might’ve ticked a lot of boxes, but I think we can all agree that, since the action-RPG shed its wizardly skin on consoles and PC a couple of years back, there has been a lot of missed opportunities for the WB Games’ love letter to the Wizarding World. Take its lack of morality sliders, or even curriculum, for example; the game does feature the option to attend classes as part of the game’s overarching story, but without a structured class schedule to attend, the vanilla version does fall short on plausibility. But, that’s all in the past now, it seems, as the PC port of Hogwarts Legacy has opened up its floodgates for custom mods, which means that you can now tailor the beloved School of Witchcraft and Wizardry into your own custom RPG. Finally.

If you’re looking for the best Hogwarts Legacy mods on PC, then you needn’t look any further. Here’s our top picks for (2026).

Immersive Modpack

If you, like us, felt that Hogwarts Legacy could’ve benefited from a greater sense of realism with an actual class structure and not, for example, the odd mission blimp or half-baked assignment, then you ought to get a kick out of Immersive Modpack, a four-piece collection that essentially boosts the realism of class schedules, mealtimes in the Great Hall, and even common room activities after school hours.

At present, students and faculty tend to follow a predictable path, and aren’t allowed to act on their own free will. With this mod, however, both students and staff can now attend strict class routines, hang out in their common rooms or housing quarters, respectively, form friendship circles, and even visit Hogsmeade on the weekend to spend their coin on one of several activities — like getting a haircut, for example. It’s a fantastic mod that overhauls a lot of the dimmer aspects of the vanilla version, so if you’re looking to install just the one mod, then this ought to scratch that itch.

Emote With Any NPC

Aside from the chatty quest givers and key professors, Hogwarts Legacy has little to no persons of interest. Well, it does, though without the option to converse or interact with said people, it feels as if they’re more redundant than the Victorian Boots at the bottom of the Black Lake. Thanks to this particular mod, though, players can finally interact with other NPCs around the world with a nifty Emote system. And not just that, but also interact with certain objects around the castle and its surrounding areas, like beds or chairs, for example. So, if you want something to talk about, then be sure to staple this mod into your game.

Class System

Yet another redundant feature in Hogwarts Legacy is its House Cup—an accolade that, outside of the final chapter of the main story, has little to no effect on the game’s storyline. With the Class System mod, however, players can not only fight to earn points towards their respective House Cups, but attend classes, complete homework, and participate in extra text-based quests, all of which contribute to the point system and, if you’re lucky, the rewards that come with them. It also features a detention system, too, which means that if you do fail to attend your classes, then you’ll have to pay the price. How’s that for a little extra realism?

Night Curfew

The night curfew rule is ironclad in the Wizarding World, and therefore something that should, unless you’re up to something mischievous, be followed, no questions asked. In Hogwarts Legacy, though, this rule is nonexistent; students can roam the corridors freely without having to suffer any of the appropriate consequences. And that spoils the immersion, truly, what with the original books frequently mentioning professors and prefects who, true to their roles, were avid fans of patrolling the grounds after dark to catch nocturnal students.

As it turns out, there is a mod that allows you to implement a mandatory stealth system—a feature that not only warns you of the consequences for sneaking out of your dorm room after hours, but also positions several prefects in the school to check for any suspicious activity. If you get caught, then you may have to pay a questionable fee to prevent expulsion. Still, such a mod is likely to make those late-night trips to the third floor a little more, shall we say, exciting.

AnyTimeCompanion

Companions in Hogwarts Legacy are commonplace. Or at least, they are in certain situations, like story quests, for instance. But outside of these quests, the option to buddy up with other students and faculty members isn’t a possible option. And that’s where the AnyTimeCompanion mod slots into the mix—a mod that, when enabled, allows you the opportunity to select from numerous NPCs, including villagers, staff, and students, and embark on worldwide adventures as a duo. It’s a simple add-on, but an incredibly useful one, nonetheless.

SpellSpeak

It’s all well and good being able to cast your spells with a single button prompt, but the one thing that is preventing you from feeling like a natural-born witch or wizard is a proper, full voiced incantation. With SpellSpeak, you can use your microphone to bark commands at your wand and, in turn, cast the spells of your choice on your chosen targets or objects. Again, a simple mod that doesn’t add too much meat to the elixir, but it does provide an additional layer of realism to the pot.

Alternative Uniforms for NPCs

Don’t get me wrong, the signature robes in Hogwarts Legacy are thematically on point, but even the mere sight of a hundred charcoal robes in the Great Hall can get a little tiresome. Thanks to the Alternative Uniforms for NPCs mod, however, you can now transform those emotionless husks of students into unique characters with flourishing personalities. From shirts to scarves, headwear to special wizard gear, this mod basically elevates basic apparel to a more casual style, effectively making the school look less copy-and-paste, and a bit more realistic.

Well, that’s all for the best mods in Hogwarts Legacy. If you’re hunkering for a few more tips, mods, and other wizard-centric coverage, be sure to check out our best Leveling Guide for Hogwarts Legacy here.
