5 Most Magical Beasts in Hogwarts Legacy and How to Capture Them

Magical Beasts are one of the most fantastic elements of Hogwarts Legacy, as well as Harry Potter lore. These tremendous creatures range in appearance as well as temperament. This makes them really interesting to discover and care for throughout the game. The game even features a class centered around these marvelous creatures. That said, some definitely stand out, so here are our picks for the 5 Most Magical Beasts in Hogwarts Legacy and How to Capture Them.

5. Puffskein

The humble Puffskein is our first pick on our list today. While it may not appear the most flashy, this creature is absolutely adorable. It can be found in various Beast Dens around the map. Players can tame these creatures and obtain fur from them as well, which they can use for a variety of purposes. The creatures are also absolutely adorable to look at. While they do have the nasty habit of digging up people's noses, they are lovable all the same. So if you enjoy taking care of magical beasts, definitely get a Puffskein.

Players are able to feed and brush their little fuzzballs to their heart's content. This is great and allows you to go about collecting some of the rare varieties of creatures in the game. It should be noted, however, that players must have progressed the story enough to obtain the Nab-Sack, used for capturing magical creatures. While they might not be the most utility option, these little guys definitely add an adorable flair to any creature collection. For this reason, we have Puffskeins on this list of Magical Beasts obtainable in Hogwarts Legacy.

4. Nifflers

Nifflers may not offer many things in the way of combat or anything like that to the player. But what they do, is look adorable. However, they do also shed their fur to offer to the player from time to time. These furs can be used in upgrading the player's gear, as well as many other things in the game. Players can place these creatures in their Vivarium, which is an area strictly dedicated to keeping one's creatures. Players can unlock this feature by progressing through the story as well.

The Nifflers are a creature that comes up rather often while playing the game as well. Players can see Nifflers and even save a few of them along their journey through the game. One aspect of the Niffler that makes them even more adorable is how they hide away objects in their pouches. This is really cute and is even referenced in the lore of the game. One of the more important things you can use the Niffler Fur for is brewing a Tunderbrew Potion. This makes Nifflers one of the most worthwhile and wonderful Magical Beasts in Hogwarts Legacy.

3. Kneazles

Featured heavily in one of the game's quests, the Kneazle is a cat-like creature. Players will be able to have an up-close encounter with this creature rather early on in the game. After completing the prerequisite quests to unlock the Nab-Sack, players can capture Kneazles in the wild and save them from poachers. Much like other creatures on this list, Kneazles allows the player to harness the power of their fur for various purposes.

The primary purpose of obtaining the fur is to upgrade your gear. As with many of the game's creatures, this creature is allowed to stay in your Vivarium and live its best life. Players can look forward to collecting this creature, feeding it, and showing it all of the love that it deserves. It is suspected that these creatures, much like cats, are really fickle, so players may want to be on the lookout for that. While you cannot mount this creature, which would be kind of awesome, it is still one of the most beautiful and striking Magical Beasts in Hogwarts Legacy.

2. Thestrals

While their backstory might be a bit macabre, the Thestrals are oddly beautiful in their own way. These horse-like creatures have the interesting aspect of only being visible to those who have seen death firsthand. Their skeletal forms make them stand out when compared to other creatures in the game for sure. Much like the other characters on this list, Thestrals can be caught using the Nab-Sack. Much like many other creatures, they are allowed to roam free in the Vivarium and be cared for by the player.

These creatures are one of the most strikingly beautiful creatures in the game. It makes for a fantastic mount if players preorder the Deluxe Edition of the game. It should also be noted that players will have to complete The High Keep quest in order to properly use the mount. In conclusion, Thestrals are fantastic creatures and add a darker tone to the creatures in Hogwarts Legacy as a whole. So if you haven't captured one for yourself, definitely do so. Magical Beasts are one of the best aspects of Hogwarts Legacy, and the Thestral is one of the reasons why this aspect is so amazing.

1. Phoenix

The Phoenix is a mythical bird that can be acquired in Hogwarts Legacy. This bird is quite different from other creatures in the game, however, as it is only obtainable upon completing all of Deek's storyline. Doing so and completing all of the required quests will allow you to undergo the hunt for this legendary creature. The Phoenix Rising quest is the quest you will need to undertake in order to obtain this fiery bird. Players will have to venture out and locate a cave in which they will find the Phoenix.

It should also be noted by the player that you will also have to complete a trial as well before you can obtain this quest. The trial needed is the Niamh Fitzgerald Trial. This is rather late in the game and will require the player to play to at least that point in order to obtain the Phoenix. However, this is one of the most brilliantly designed Trials in the game. While we won't spoil it here, it is a treat in and of itself. Completing this task will put you closer to obtaining the Phoenix. Hogwarts Legacy has many rare Magical Beasts within its runtime. However, none match the majesty of this fiery creature.
