The developer promises a story you’ve never seen before, complete with real voice-overs. You’ll be busy preparing for Christmas, controlling the elves to do your bidding, when in comes the Grinch holding all the grudge and hellbent on stealing every jolly left of Christmas.

It plays around with fictional ideas that come to life and start to haunt you. All along, Escape It Clown has one thing it insists on, well, two things: escape and get back to reality. 

8. MC Jackson Horror 5.0 (8552-8014-0910 by corbeau)

Fine, I’ll admit it. Thriller’s music video still makes my stomach turn. I just can’t sit through the whole thing. If you’re like me, I bet MC Jackson Horror 5.0 will be exactly what the doctor ordered. 

Corbeau has been really creative with this one, mostly because it’s just not what you’d expect. There are some pretty scary moments here, but also hilarious ones that will have you bursting out a few laughs.

Backrooms: Asylum follows up after Backrooms: Cult and Backrooms: Origins, where players have been taken by the Scientist. So, you now have to escape from him, but also Veronica, who’s hunting down any survivors.

This has more of a creepy vibe than outright scary, which should be familiar to any backrooms fans of those yellow walls and unsettling fluorescent lights. The puzzles, though, should be engaging, pushing exploration, and finding a way out.

6. Smily (1235-9269-8839 by mc_corbac)

Smiling is cool, just not all the freaking time. And that concept alone birthed Smily, taking after one of the most popular signature villain looks that gives off a menacing, serial killer vibe. 

While there are so many antagonists that have adopted creepy smiles as their signature looks, the Joker, Pennywise, and villains from films like The Silence of the Lambs, the Fortnite version features one whose bite will sink you into a sea of hallucinations and nightmares.

Crazy how FNaF has come and continues to thrive. In FNAF – Night Shift Survival, 3dlab adds Freddy, and his bloodthirsty animatronic friends, Chica and Mr. Cupcake. It also retains the player as the Night Shift security guard. So, everything should be easy to dive into.

This one’s pretty popular with hundreds of players at a time. Mostly because the exploration can hide lots of interesting stuff, including where to find the animatronics. You’ll definitely run into some jump scares, but overall, you’ll have fun deciphering the puzzles to reach the end of your night shift.

But Kisaragi Danchi does a great job with its foggy atmosphere and ambient sound design. It’s effortlessly terrifying in places, and equally compelling, especially the tear-jerking ending. And there’s a bonus ending you can chase after for even more time with the game.
