Elden Ring developer FromSoftware has announced the release date for Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. The developer dropped a gameplay trailer today, revealing the release date.

The trailer highlights the customization options available, featuring different mech builds with varying numbers of legs and weapons, including laser swords. The trailer starts with a cinematic approach while hovering over Rubicon 3. C4-621’s enhanced human handler, “Walter,” is activated and sent in a dangerous high-altitude drop to the planet’s surface. We then see the planet’s dark and desolate surface, along with its strip mines, geothermal power plants, and enormous industrial complexes. There are only enormous mechs and highly explosive ordinance; no animals, vegetation, or other forms of life exist.

As with previous Armored Core games, Armored Core 6 promises to be fast-paced and action-packed. Players can choose between rocket-powere\d feet or heavy tank treads to move around the battlefield. A range of weapons is available, including guns, missiles, rockets, and lasers. Additionally, a new electric sword whip has been showcased in the trailer. The trailer also highlighted combat features such as the assault boost and stagger systems.

Game director Masaru Yamamura discussed more details of the game and the Rubicon universe over on the PlayStation Blog.

“It’s an intricate and multi-layered world, brimming with mega-structures and enormous underground facilities built by its former inhabitants. These structures cover a planetary surface wracked with extreme cold and contamination in the aftermath of the great disaster, and the player will be exploring these various environments as they proceed,” Yamamura shared.
