PIGFACE: Everything We Know

For those who believe in indie game developers, one of them is out to prove a point in the horror world. Well, it’s not entirely a horror video game. It’s a first-person shooter game with enough grit and blood to list among horror titles. A hack-and-slash game would still do, but there’s more to gun-blazing battle than the slashing of heads and limbs. The game announcement came in early May along with a teaser trailer, and fans can’t help but wait in anticipation. Dubbed PIGFACE, but the game doesn’t seem anything you could think of from its name. For now, fans can only piece together the details from the announcement and teaser trailer. However, we looked deeper into the upcoming title, and here is everything we know about PIGFACE. 

What is PIGFACE?

PIGFACE is an upcoming video game that appears to capitalize on the belief that shock value sells in video games. It focuses on gore and dread, making it worth describing as an ultra-violent horror first-person shooter. Prepare for fun, dread, and blood. The game is a Titolovesyou creation, published by DreadXP. Titolovesyou supported other games like VAULTS OF VAARN and CATWORLD. Noteworthy titles published by DreadXP include I Don’t Exist: A Modern Text Adventure and Hand of Doom. The publisher has a history with retro-inspired horror video games. As a result, PIGFACE fits in just right with them. 

Story

Dive into PIGFACE’s story as Exit, the evil woman whose own doings in the past have finally caught up with her. You have done a lot of awful things in the past, and karma now holds you captive. You awaken in a pool of your own blood and with a severe headache. And it’s not the ordinary migraines. There’s a bomb lodged in your skull! You found yourself in an abandoned warehouse, and as you struggle to wake up amid the explosive pain, a phone rings nearby. 

 It is blackmail. Some people have drilled a bomb into your head and now want you to perform some contracts for them. To fulfill their contracts, you must brave through the gun-blazing, kinetic, fast-paced, violent, and perilous world. For them, you’re a hostage and nothing else matters. They rest assured you will do all it takes to fulfill those obligations. 

Gameplay

The gameplay in PIGFACE is slow and tactical, yet brutal and adrenaline-pumping. It feels like a hack-and-slash game as you slash opponents’ heads and limbs. You only have one thing to do. Kill and kill more for you to get out alive. You assume the role of Exit, the main protagonist, but you are not the hero here. Instead, you play the evil character who is now a prisoner of his past. 

It’s a hostage situation, and those holding you captive know what you did. They’ve now turned you into their killing machine. Prepare to do the unspeakable things they want you to do. That said, arm yourself to the teeth and prepare yourself to finish the job. You have all the weaponry you need, from hammers to pistols, shotguns, grenades, landmines, and more. 

The Black Market is there to serve you with all the weapons you need. Purchase them, including Kevlar vests. Each time you complete the sandbox games’ combat missions, you earn money that you can use in the market to expand your loadout. The different masks you must find and unlock will enhance your skill and killing ability. Each mask grants you a set of unique abilities. Depending on your preferred playstyle, you can wear different masks to achieve your goals. Switch between gun-blazing battles and completing missions using stealth and cunning tricks. You have to get the job done. You aim to draw closer to the person pulling the strings. 

Development

DreadXP announced the upcoming game on May 6, 2025, along with the solo developer Titolovesyou. From its announcement, fans can tell it’s created as a gritty video game, although details about when development began remain unknown. It’s an ultra-violent first-person shooter title featuring blackmail, brutal combat with weapons, and ability masks. However, Titolovesyou may yet have some more work to do on PIGFACE, given that they have yet to set a date for the game’s launch. 

Notably, Titolovesyou is not new to video game development despite being a solo developer. His works can be seen in previous titles including GLOOB SIEGE, ETHEY the DREAMER, and THREE VERSES. 

Trailer

The May 6 announcement came along with a teaser trailer. Though less than a minute long, the trailer perfectly captures what PIGFACE’s gameplay will be like. First, you can hear the person pulling the strings issue instructions to Exit in what sounds like the voice masking device used by kidnappers. You can tell it’s not an ordinary man’s voice. His voice speaks amid tense noises and a soundtrack that echoes the dread of the game as Exit engages in the showdown. 

You can see Exit take down a series of enemies approaching you using different guns. You see the game from her eyes, so you probably won’t be seeing her full body even in the game. Instead, you see the weapons she wields and the enemies she targets. She even strikes one with a weapon she throws from a distance, instantly crushing the enemy’s head. Watch her take on enemies inside buildings and others in an outdoor setting. Her captor even commends her for the good work and asks her to get back just before the trailer ends. 

Release Date & Platforms

For now, DreadXP and Titoloves have yet to announce the release date of their new horror game. The game is said to be coming soon on its Steam page, so fans only have to wait for updates. You can, however, wishlist PIGFACE on Steam and receive notifications once the game is out. PIGFACE will be coming to PC via Steam when it finally launches. The developers may also port the game for other consoles, but for now, only the game’s PC version has been confirmed.
