10. Let’s Fix Some Leaks

The trailer starts in the most hilarious way. You know all of the GTA 6 leaks that we’ve been receiving all these years. Well, Rockstar Games quickly addresses that in the first few seconds of the trailer. They do so ever so cheekily, with the landlord asking Jason, the protagonist, what he’s doing up on the roof, to which Jason replies, “Oh, just fixing some leaks.”

Analyze this further, and it could suggest that Rockstar Games has been setting the record straight with the first trailer released on December 4, 2023, and now, the second trailer. 

9. Meet the Protagonists

We already know GTA 6’s protagonists are Jason and Lucia. But what do we really know about them? The first trailer already revealed that Lucia is locked up in prison. Now, we see Jason going to pick her up from prison. 

We learn their last names, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Also, they seem pretty in-love, often featured going on dates, snogging, and grinding on each other. They’re possibly living together, too, with their house looking better and better across the trailer, suggesting a home decorating feature.

But above all, they seem to work together on several criminal missions like orchestrating heists, which leads to some exhilarating and life-threatening scenarios. All key character cues in Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer 2 things you missed.

8. Hit Songs from the ‘80s

Can you identify some of the songs in the trailer? You might notice it features some hit songs from the ‘80s. For instance, “Everybody Have Fun Tonight,” by Wang Chung and “Hot Together” by the Pointer Sisters, both released in 1986. Other hit songs include “Child Support” by Zenglen and “Talkin’ to Myself Again” by Tammy Wynette.

This could suggest more ‘80s references in visuals or soundtrack, a clever detail many missed in the GTA 6 trailer 2.

7. Nods to Real World

Vice City, the setting of GTA 6, draws inspiration from Miami, and the state of Leonida, based on Florida. So, definitely watch out for familiar spots. So far, the second trailer shows a professional sports team: The Leonida Manatees, which closely resembles the jersey for the Miami Dolphins NFL Team. 

There are also beer brands like Piswasser that sounds like real-world Budweiser and a hotel inspired by Clevelander on Miami beach.  Also, Jason and Lucia go to the “NINE 1 NINE” nightclub, which could possibly be based on Miami’s E11EVEN nightclub.

Another exciting feature is the PlayStation 5 console next to the TV and the DualShock 4-like controller on the table. Fans have been speculating it might mean playing PS minigames or it could just be marketing. Even if there aren’t though, Rockstar confirms you’ll have plenty to keep you busy, from kayaking, scuba diving, dirt bike racing, etc. 

6. More Folks About

GTA 6 trailer 2 hidden details hint that the game will have bigger and more dynamic crowds. At the beach, for instance, there are so many folks about, all fitting in one frame. It’ll be interesting to see how many NPCS interact and respond to your actions as well. 

Moreover, the explorable areas are immense, including the fictional towns of Port Cellhorn and Ambosia. Plus, a national park and wetlands area, culminating in a proper lived-in US state. 

5. The Missing Boat

Remember Michael De Santa’s boat that was stolen in GTA 5? It sparked lots of jokes about what happened to it, which the second trailer subtly hints at in the boat seen outside Jason’s house. Jason might have stolen the boat, after all.

4. RPG-Lite Elements, Maybe?

GTA 6’s second trailer sure has quite a lot of ways to lead some semblance of normal life. An activity like weight lifting isn’t entirely new, having been present in GTA San Andreas, where you could go into different gyms to work out. It’s great to see that GTA 6 will be bringing it back, featuring Jason bench-pressing on the beach.

You also spot fight club tournaments, possibly an underground fight club, featuring Lucia, and a crowd cheering on, as well as side activities like fishing, mini-golf, pool, and more. 3. Red Dead Redemption 2 Easter Egg

Easy to miss but present still, a dollar bill features President Hardin’s image, the former president of the United States in Red Dead Redemption 2. Fun, huh? Especially thinking about what other nods GTA 6 plans to make to Red Red Redemption.

2. Legal Troubles, Perhaps?

You see Lucia wearing an ankle monitor after her release from prison. It suggests you’ll be on probation and restricted to a certain area of the map, possibly restricted to certain activities. She’s also seen picking up trash as part of community service. But later, the ankle monitor comes off. So, no need to panic. 

1. Graphical Step Up

One tiny detail shows just how powerful the graphics for GTA 6 intend to be, and that’s the shockingly realistic fizz on the beer bottle. This isn’t the only realistic feature you’ll see, but it’s made all the more impressive by the stunning character models, environmental detail, and shadows on the car windows.
