Enginefall: Everything We Know
The Enginefall trailer has left us with tons of questions. What exactly is this massive train? Why are players fighting each other? And how does survival work in this chaotic, post-apocalyptic world? Even though the short preview just gave us a sneak peek of the insane action and high-stakes gameplay, it definitely left us wanting more.
With so much still under wraps, you might be eager to know what Enginefall is all about. It is an upcoming multiplayer game where players must fight their way to power aboard a gigantic moving train. You’ll start at the bottom, struggle to survive, and decide how to move ahead. Curious yet? Here’s everything we know so far about Enginefall.
Enginefall Story

The complete story of Enginefall hasn’t been revealed yet. But what we do know is enough to spark curiosity. The game is set on a massive, never-stopping train that carries the last of humanity. Society onboard is divided by strict classes. The rich and powerful control the front, while the poor are trapped in the back, forced into endless servitude. Players start at the very bottom, known as “tailies.” Their only goal is to fight, scheme, and survive to reach the front. Those who make it can take control of the engine and reshape the train’s future. But getting there won’t be easy. Other players will betray and backstab. The train itself is a brutal, ever-moving battlefield where only the strongest, smartest, or most ruthless will rise to the top.
Enginefall Gameplay

Enginefall is an open-ended multiplayer game where players must survive, fight, and outsmart everyone else to reach the front of massive moving train. Everyone starts as a “tailie,” stuck at the end with nothing. To reach the front, players can choose how they want to play — whether through combat, crafting, or build alliances. Every train offers a fresh start, but only the strongest or smartest will make it to the front.
Expect fast-paced combat with different types of weapons to take down enemies. Raiding is a big part of the game, letting players steal resources and eliminate competition. But survival isn’t just about fighting. Players will also need to craft gear, upgrade their equipment, and build structures to stay ahead.
Furthermore, building and base construction seem to be major mechanics as well. Players can create and expand their own spaces on the train, and expect a deep crafting system where you can build structures, upgrade equipment, and secure better resources. The train is full of valuable tech, but getting it won’t be easy.
For those who make it far enough, complete control of a train is possible. Players can add new carriages and shape their train however they want. But no train is ever truly safe. Rival groups will always be looking to attack, and the fight for dominance never ends.
Development

Enginefall is in development by Red Rover Interactive and published by the same studio. The team has been working on it for over a year, using playtesting and player feedback to shape the game. Marek Zilavy, Design Director at Red Rover, says the goal isn’t just to make another survival game — it’s to create a world where players can build their own stories, alliances, and empires.
The studio is made up of veterans from Funcom, Bohemia Interactive, Ubisoft, Lockwood Publishing, and more, so they know their way around multiplayer games. They believe that the best content in a game comes from players themselves, and Enginefall is being built around that idea. With a big focus on community-driven development, they’re aiming to make this one of the most player-driven survival games out there.
