Best Characters in Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat

Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat was recently launched after over three years of development. It is a mobile-based continuation to Devil May Cry 3, expanding the storyline with a versatile narrative and fresh voice-overs. And, while it may lack some of the depth of the mainline DMC games, it retains the game’s iconic and stylish combat-focused approach. It also retains four of the main characters, including Dante, Lady, Nero, and Vergil.
The four characters in Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat transform into alternate forms of demon hunters. Interestingly, while the characters retain some of their features, their move sets and playstyles in this version of the game are new and unique. Moreover, the characters are grouped into three tiers, depending on their expertise and skills, making some better and more efficient than others. Here is an overview of the top five best characters in the game.
5. Fists of Salvation (Dante)

Dante is the main playable character in the mainline version of DMC. He is a vigilante demon hunter obsessed with finding the demons that killed his mother and corrupted his brother while ridding the entire world of all demons in the process. He is also a private investigator and paranormal mercenary.
The Fists of Salvation version of Dante in Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat comes with some impressive features, weapons, and combat skills. His Hunter Specials include the following:
- Fire: Deal fire damage.
- Sustain: Withstand attacks and damage.
- Hard Hitter: Deal more powerful damage capable of breaking DMG-RED shields.
- Ignite: Fill the Burn Gauge to burn targets and deplete their HP by the second.
- Trick Up: Instantly shorten the distance between you and your targets.
Dante’s weapon in this character form is Fearless Titan-Pure, which can change if you have a higher-tier weapon. Additionally, his ultimate ability, Sin-Rising Dragon, is impressive and tactical and causes extensive damage. It is a combination of two moves. First, you concentrate all demonic power on a fist before applying an uppercut blow with DMG stats of 909.8%.
4. Royal Guard: Dante

Besides Fists of Salvation, you can also play Dante in the Royal Guard for a fun experience and a higher likelihood of winning, thanks to his cool skills and abilities. A legendary-grade demon hunter classified in the S tier, he has the following Hunter Special features and abilities:
- Physical: Deal elemental physical damage.
- Sustain: Withstand attacks and damage.
- Hard Hitter: Deal powerful blows to break DMG-RED shields.
- Block: Negate and block incoming attacks to prevent and minimize damage.
- AoE: Gather all targets in one place to inflict an AoE DMG for greater efficiency.
Moreover, he has an efficient ultimate ability known as Devil Trigger, which enables him to transform into his demonic form. However, you can only unlock this ability by reaching 1,000 MP. Moreover, unlocking the ability will cost you 200 MP to start and 100 MP per second until you revert to your human form. On the other hand, the Devil Trigger increases physical damage by 10%, gains you 18 rage per second, and significantly boosts your resilience.
3. Frosty Grace: Lady

Lady first appeared in Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening and has since become one of the game’s most engaging characters. She is a human ice demon hunter with iron determination, and her greatest weapon is the belief that her course is righteous. She features prominently in Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat, and her Frosty Grace character makes for an enjoyable and efficient playing experience.
Notably, Frosty Grace comes with the following Hunter Special abilities:
- Ice: Dealing ice DMG.
- Support: controlling the battle’s course by weakening enemies and empowering allies.
- Chill: Skills fill the Chill Gauge, causing chill damage to targets and possibly triggering the QTE of Ice Hunters.
- Rapid: Quickly launch simultaneous attacks powerful enough to break hit shields.
Mobility is one of Frosty Grace’s most prominent skills, enabling her to run circles around her targets. Interestingly, her ultimate ability, Frosty Blitz, enables her to unleash rapid attacks so quickly that they only leave fleeting afterimages and inflict significant damage. Other notable moves include an air combo that results in a beautiful and efficient knockdown.
2. Endless Judgment (Vergil)

Vergil is Dante’s older twin brother, making for a classic sibling rivalry. Unlike Dante, he embraced his demonic nature, becoming one of the game’s main antagonists. His Endless Judgment character in DMC: Peak of Combat lives up to Vergil’s reputation, making him the runner-up on our list. He comes with the following Hunter special abilities:
- Physical: Deal significant physical damage, like Dante’s Royal Guard character.
- DMG: Effective at dealing with more DMG in various ways.
- Bleed: Skills fill the Bleed Gauge, which causes targets to bleed and lose HP every second. It can also trigger physical hunters’ QTE.
- Rapid: Rapidly launch simultaneous attacks and break hit shields, like Frosty Grace Lady.
- Trick Up: Instantly shortens the distance between you and your targets, like Fists of Salvation Dante.
DMG and Rapid make Vergil a formidable hunter, enabling you to subdue your targets quickly and more easily. Moreover, he can easily track down enemies using his five-hit ground combo and knock them down using his four-hit air combo. Additionally, his ultimate ability, Judgment Cut End, utilizes master-level swordsmanship to slash targets at multiple locations, inflict physical damage, and disrupt dimensions.
1. One-Man Show: Dante

Dante’s One-Man Show character truly is a one-man show, considering his extensive abilities and skills. For starters, he comes with the following abilities:
- Electric: Dealing with electric DMG.
- Support: controlling battles by empowering allies and weakening targets.
- Hard Hitter: Dealing powerful blows to break DMG-RED shields.
- Paralyze: Skills fill the Paralysis Gauge, paralyzing and immobilizing targets and possibly triggering the QTE of Electric Hunters.
- AoE: gathering all targets in one place to inflict AoE damage.
- MP Regen: Skills can restore the explosiveness of MP or your entire lineup.
One-Man Show’s ultimate ability, Rock of the Night, enables him to unleash his demonic power on multiple targets, simultaneously weakening them and inflicting electric damage. Other notable abilities include a three-hit grounded combo and Air Hike.
