Best Attributes in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Ranked

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 feels like a lot to take in right from the beginning for some turn-based game fans. You have skills and skill stats to master, attributes to understand, character builds, and pretty confusing jargon. Surprisingly, it’s one of the most immersive and fun role-playing games once you know the mechanics. Of course, you will need to take a few runs before you learn the ropes. But still, a little guidance on some ins and outs, like the attributes, eases things up. Here are the best attributes in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, ranked.

5. Luck

It’s easy to underestimate the power of Luck and assume it’s a casual attribute in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. However, you will be surprised at what it does and why it’s important for the entire Clair Obscur crew. First, Luck increases your odds of landing a Critical Hit. That means there are more chances you will deal 50% more damage in your attacks. Second, your attack speed also increases.

With a perk that boosts the damage dealt, it means the attribute can be more valuable for Sciel, Maelle, and Verso. They make the highest damage trio, so a 50% boost in damage in Critical Hits, and a higher chance of landing them goes a long way. Gustave also benefits indirectly from the attribute, as more Critical Hits are landed because he can build his Overcharge fast.

4. Defense

Defense

There is no two-way with the defense attribute. It increases the character’s defense ability, allowing them to withstand more attacks with little damage. However, you will also be increasing your chances of landing a powerful strike on enemies and dealing extra damage, the Critical Hit. While no party member needs to die, the defense ability will obviously be handier for some characters than others.

For example, it could be more useful on Lune due to her build and role in the party. She’s a highly versatile member of the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 crew. And so, it is possible to use her in different ways, including defensive and offensive skills. She also carries skills that depend largely on her staying power and stacking, without forgetting her healing and resurrectional abilities. These are enough reasons to want to keep Lune alive by increasing her defensive skills with the defense attribute. She can keep other members of the party in the game for longer by just being alive and with enough HP to heal.

Monaco, on his part, is humorous and uses unconventional methods in his actions. But that’s not the only reason you need to maximize his defense and keep him alive for longer. He’s highly flexible and provides a lot of beneficial enhancements to the party, allowing you to use their abilities more effectively. He’s thus a handy member of the team but is a little low on the damage output, making the defense attribute indispensable.

3. Agility

Agility

Agility is one of the robust attributes in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 if you are more concerned with your character’s actual engagement in combat. It boosts the player’s speed and does a little bit on defense. And it’s not just the speed of attacks in the fights. It also increases the number of times the character gets to take turns in combat. The attribute gives a tactical advantage to all characters by just being able to strike the enemy first and eventually land more hits.

But then, it becomes an even more powerful tool for characters like Verso, Gustave, and Sciel. First, Sciel uses her unique playstyle of building up Foretell to land more damage with skills. Therefore, it means the Agility attribute comes in handy for Sciel in terms of helping her build up her stacks faster since she has more runs in the combat. She can cast multiple skills before entering Twilight and finally execute with the advantage of speed.

Verso, on the other hand, can build on his Rank and Perfection faster, while Gustave will build on Overcharge more efficiently with extra speed on his side.

2. Vitality

Attributes in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33-Vitality

In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Vitality is a critical attribute for your survival. It’s the attribute responsible for boosting your health, often referred to as the character’s HP. Having more HP means you can tank more damage from enemy attacks before they can finally knock you out. That said, it means the Vitality attribute is important for every character in Expedition 33. I mean, everyone wants to stay alive, so it only makes sense if you have more HP.

However, the attribute makes more sense for Lune given her character. She’s a fairly good attacker at the beginning of the game and has considerable durability. But again, Lune is highly empathetic and does an excellent job of reviving the party. She is the best healer, and many players will want to boost her odds of staying alive with her Vitality attribute. And if she’s not too burdened with heavy healing, she can keep up with the fights for quite some time.

1.  Attributes in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33-Might

Might

Might is the attribute that boosts your character’s overall damage by increasing the attack power. It is the main offensive attribute in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. With this attribute, you will increase the damage of all offensive actions, including the basic attacks, weapon skills, and offensive abilities that rely on your attack stats. That explains why it is more important for Maelle, Verso, and Sciel. They deal the greatest damage of all party members, meaning maximizing the damage output for them with Might goes a long way.

As one of the highest damage dealers in Expedition 33, you can have Maelle render incredible attacks that will knock out any enemy. Simply focus on this damage attribute to give her a massive burst, and then blend it with Pictos to boost Maelle’s Virtuoso Stance. Verso builds up the Perfection meter to unleash an onslaught with attacks later. As a result, tapping into Might will ensure he deals ridiculous damage and let his skills shine.

As Sciel stalls and builds up her special style, Foretell, having a boosted damage output from the Might attribute, makes her wait worth it by landing devastating hits.
