Best Weapons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Your nation has been sending out expeditions into unknown territory for quite some time, with none of them returning safely. Many people have died in places far away. But you must never give up because the success of these missions is critical to the survival of your people. And who knows? Perhaps Expedition 33 is the lucky number and charm.

So you and your companions set sail over the sea, to the unknown place far up ahead, which guarantees danger and tragedy. There’s a good chance you won’t survive the expedition, but you must lean on one another and craft the best weapons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 if you’re to have the best chance of surviving the danger and monsters that await you.

10. Charnon

Charnon

Among your party members is Sciel, whose best weapon in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the Charnon. You can buy it once you hit level 31 and begin dealing Void-based elemental damage against enemies. But its most notable perk is the scaling attribute for Defense.

For every consecutive turn that you don’t take up damage, Charnon will grant you 20% increased damage output that can be maximized up to five times. Of course, this means that you have to perfect your parries and dodges if you are to make the most of it.

9. Brulerum

Brulerum

Alternatively, consider the Brulerum weapon for the character, Maelle. You can unlock it a lot earlier, as soon as you hit level 3. In turn, you’ll access its attractive perks like the Burn damage that you inflict on enemies for every critical hit.

This fire-based weapon also marries well with gamers who are quick on their feet. It ensures that you can make the most of its power when you’re agile. But most of all, it ensures that even when Maelle is in Stanceless mode, which is the default stance that doesn’t afford you any perks, you can still enjoy 100% Critical Chance.

8. Contorso

Contorso - Best Weapons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Contorso, on the other hand, is great for both Gustave and Verso. It inflicts Lightning damage on enemies for every Critical hit. But its most powerful perk is the Break damage when Verso wields it. Break damage will completely destroy a full enemy break bar. But also, it’ll go on to buff your Perfection status effect immediately after, which helps increase your rank by improving your skills.

Power: 2841

7. Dualiso

Dualiso

An alternative best weapon in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for Verso or Gustavo is the Dualiso. It also inflicts lightning damage on enemies, which grows stronger with the attributes of vitality and defense. Furthermore, it gives Verso a better fighting chance against enemies during turn-based combat

Essentially, after your basic attack, Dualiso will grant Verso a free turn, thus giving you two turns when it’s your time to strike. This can make all the difference in winning a battle, not to mention the boost to your base attack damage by 50% and increase in your Perfection rank.

Power: 1776

6. Trebuchim

Trebuchim

The party companion, Lune, is better off wielding the Trebuchim weapon. It enhances the accuracy of your Free Aim shot, which comes in pretty handy when exploiting the enemy’s weaknesses. But it can also alter your status effects so that you enjoy additional AP, which fuel your attacks, and Stains, which enhance your skills.

Power: 3067

5. Scaverim

Best Weapons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Another reliable best weapon in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for Lune is Scaverim. You can deal more damage with Scaverim, which scales with Vitality and Agility. At level four, you can enjoy dealing 50% more Dark-based damage. At level ten, your base attacks will consume one Dark Stain but inflict 200% more damage. Meanwhile, at level 20, you’ll consume four Dark Stains to deal a whopping 300% more damage.

Power: 4197

4. Abysseram

When controlling Gustave or Verso, you might want to consider equipping them with the Abysseram weapon. You’ll need to reach Rank D to access the weapon’s 505 increased damage. However, once you hit level ten, it’s fair game, unlocking 50% more damage on all base attacks. Meanwhile, level 20 affords you 20% health recovery with every base attack, though tied to Rank D.

Power: 3228

3. Medalum

Medalum

One of the best ways to snag the best weapons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is to enter the Arena tournaments. When you sign up as Maelle for the tournament in Gestral Village, you’ll receive the Medalum weapon as a reward for winning. Thereafter, you’ll no longer be stuck in the default stance that doesn’t give you many benefits.

Instead, you’ll start fights in the Virtuoso stance, where you deal 200% more damage. The physical damage that you are inflicting when equipping Medalum is quite significant. But more so, the Burn damage, which inflicts double damage on enemies.

Power: 2906

2. Glaceso

Glaceso

Gustave or Verso have another best weapon in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 at their disposal called Glaceso. Its base attacks inflict Ice-based elemental damage. Moreover, the damage output scales with Defense and Luck. Most especially Luck, where having higher stats ensures that Verso has a higher chance of landing Critical hits. And for every successful Critical hit, you’ll increase Perfection.

Upon hitting level ten, you’ll be able to Self-Heal by 2% for every successful Critical hit. And after level 20, your counterattacks will automatically become critical hits, ensuring you make the most of the perks critical hits wielding Glaceso provide.

Power: 2873

1. Lanceram

Best Weapons in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Lanceram is, indeed, the most powerful weapon in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It’s the best weapon for the main character and primary protagonist, Gustave. Its starting power is pretty competitive compared to most weapons. But it’s the nitty gritty that will come most in handy when leveling up

At level four, for instance, your rank will automatically be bumped up to rank D. When you reach level ten, you’ll gain four perfection points for every successful base attack. Meanwhile, every successful parry in level 20 and higher will give you two Perfection points, all of which increase your damage output, unlock additional effects of various skills, and, overall, make your character grow more powerful over time.
