A Plague Tale Requiem Launches on Xbox Game Pass Tomorrow

A Plague Tale: Requiem is arguably one of Xbox Game Pass’ most anticipated day-one launch titles of 2022 — and it’s about to come knocking.

Asobo Studios’ long-awaited sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence is set to go live on Xbox Game Pass tomorrow, with a global release time set for midnight on October 18th.

So, what is it, and why are subscribers bending over backwards to pre-install it ready for launch day? Well, to put it short: A Plague Tale: Requiem is the follow-up chapter to 2019’s multi-award-winning debut, A Plague Tale Innocence, a story-driven third-person action-adventure game that casts its focus on two unlikely siblings in a rat-infested 14th century French province. Its sequel, which will conclude this hearty tale, will build on this blueprint respectively.

The Story

“Six months have passed since Amicia and Hugo defeated Grand Inquisitor Vitalis Bénévent and foiled the Inquisition’s nefarious plans,” the official blurb reads. “With Hugo’s curse now seemingly under control, the siblings escape their devastated homeland and travel far south, to new regions and vibrant cities. There, they attempt to start a new life and find a definitive cure to Hugo’s affliction. But, when Hugo’s powers reawaken, death and destruction return in a flood of devouring rats. Forced to flee once more, the siblings must make unlikely new allies as they place their hopes in a prophesized island that may hold the key to saving Hugo.”
