Xbox Developer Direct 2025 Teases “Brand New Game”
Buckle up, Xbox fans — Xbox Developer Direct, an annual showcase in which several faithful studios band together to unveil and promote their upcoming IPs, is due to return for a brand-new live event on January 23, 2025. In addition to the proposed event touching base on various projects that range from Doom: The Dark Ages, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and South of Midnight, the show creators have also stated that viewers will “visit a surprise location to see another studio’s brand new game.” That’s annoyingly vague, for sure, but from the sounds of it, console users will have more than enough to look forward to this year.

What Will Be Shown During Xbox Developer Direct 2025?
To make it absolutely clear, Xbox Developer Direct isn’t the only live event that Microsoft brings to the table each year; Xbox Games Showcase, which usually airs mid-June, is another prominent stream that, like the aforementioned Developer Direct, aims to elevate the bones of several of its upcoming first-party exclusives. Alas, the forthcoming Developer Direct event isn’t likely to cover quite as many IPs as its counterpart; in fact, the torchbearers themselves have made it abundantly clear that the showcase will primarily focus its attention on three titles: The Dark Ages, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and South of Midnight. With all of that said, we’ve still yet to unravel the juicy details on this “mystery” project that will reportedly feature at some point during the event. For the record, though, it won’t be Fable. Please, Playground Games — give us another chunk of Albion!
