Transformers: Reactivate Gameplay Leak Shows What Could’ve Been

In a last-ditch effort to kick us whilst we’re already down, several industry insiders and leakers have come to the forefront of Transformers: Reactivate’s funeral to commemorate its short lifespan with a batch of new screenshots and gameplay clips, effectively using the power of social media to remind us what could’ve been. For the record, it isn’t going to be anything; Hasbro and Splash Damage both decided to pull the plug on the mech-based multiplayer game a week or so back, and for absolutely no reason whatsoever, weirdly enough. To that extent, it seems awfully unlikely that Transformers: Reactivate will ever see the light of day. That is, of course, unless the devs make the conscious decision to return to its core and rekindle a few flames. Fat chance, mind you.

RIP, Bumblebee
In a recent social media leak, a short reel promoting the gameplay footage of the now-canceled online game went on to showcase several important features, including “special” Abilities, a vast and evidently barren open world setting, and a few important characters — Bumblebee, being one of the most popular characters to make it into the roster. And yet, it makes little to no difference now, what with the project being just another poor soul to suffer the same fate as countless other half-baked co-op incarnations. Still, it’s an interesting thing — to see which track its creators were on, as well as how much of the project the studio had actually completed before making the call to cut ties with it. If that’s something that might interest you, then you can catch a glimpse of Splash Damage’s unfinished game in action below.
