Gameplay

Fortnite features seven games presented on Squid Game-themed maps. Players spawn in the players’ quarters, where guards take them to the respective gaming area. After, you either team up with other players or compete against them for the ultimate prize of 456 billion. The last player standing gets the entire prize pool. Unlike the original series, it has no soldiers. The host watches out for movers and shoots them instead.
Contrariwise, Ops 6 is probably the closest crossover to the original show of the two events. At the start, players are lined up in a stadium, and the main goal is to get to the other side. You can gather collectibles across the field, earning you rewards and additional points. Players can decide to focus on the collectibles, but if they do not cross the finish line in ten minutes, they lose the match. Also, the title features the Masked Manager, the “Masked Soldier, and the Masked Worker as the new game operators.
Game Modes

Squid Game: Fortnite features many creative islands for players to navigate. First is Octo Game 2, where players compete in intense matches such as the 6-Legged Pentathlon as they work to survive against other players. There’s also the Red Light and Green Light, where you move when the light is green and freeze when it turns red. Third is the Glass Bridge. Players need to carefully pick out the right panels to cross, as stepping on the wrong one will have you falling to your death. Lastly, we have the Six Games, where you participate in six consecutive challenges with only one chance to finish them all.
On the other hand, Ops 6 features two game modes that will keep players on their toes, desperate to survive the deadly rounds. The first is the multiplayer mode, which has three classifications: Red Light, Green Light, Pentathlon, and Moshpit. The second mode is the Zombie mode, which features Dead Light, Green Light, and Warzone.
Features

The Fortnite Squid Game event features a battle royale game mode in which players compete in a wide set of challenges. Failing these challenges gets them eliminated. To enter, you must pay 100 V-Bucks, which goes to a prize pool distributed to winners. Further, the title recreates these challenges on maps featuring horrific escape rooms and parkour elements.
On the other hand, Black Ops 6 features an Event pass that caters to both free and premium channels. The free track offers two operators and a melee weapon. However, the Premium Track offers operator skins and weapon blueprints. The pass goes for 1100 CoD points. Additionally, players can pay 150 CoD points to buy skips, which help them navigate the gameplay faster.
Platforms

The event launched on the 3rd of January and is expected to run till January 24th at 10 a.m. PT. Players may access Fortnite on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One Series X/S, the Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. Also, you’ll need a special code to access the islands in the title.
On the other hand, Black Ops 6 is available on PS4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S and One, and PC.
Verdict

Netflix and the COD franchise outdid themselves by releasing these two event titles. Both events have a lot of content, even though the events are limited. Many players might worry about how they’ll manage to collect all the rewards before the events end. Fortnite is more suitable for a wider player base as it focuses more on the creative aspects of the match. On the other hand, Ops 6 focuses more on gore and combat, which is exactly what the original series offers. So, as the game is meant to explore the aspect of the original series, Ops 6 is the go-to match.
