Interviews
Schraga Mor, CEO of Plarium / RAID: Shadow Legends — Interview Series
Plarium, the studio behind the universally recognized mobile role-playing game RAID: Shadow Legends, is on the verge of receiving a brand-new collection of Norse mythology Legendary Champions for its forthcoming event, Asgard Divide. To learn more about the upcoming event, as well as the latest developments surrounding the beloved RPG, I spoke with Plarium CEO Schraga Mor.
We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us! Before we plunge into the details surrounding RAID: Shadow Legends and its ever-evolving world, please could you kindly introduce yourself to our readers?
Schraga: Hello everyone. I’m Schraga Mor, CEO of Plarium. I’ve been in the role just over 18 months and it’s been truly amazing to see the creativity and passion of the Plarium team and those who play our games. I am a big RAID fan myself – maybe not to the levels as some of your readers – but I’m definitely playing everyday. This may not be much of a surprise, but my favorite Champion is our unofficial spokesperson Deathknight.
RAID: Shadow Legends has become something of a household name in the mobile gaming community these past several years. However, for the sake of covering all bases, please could you tell us a bit more about what it is? What’s the story behind it, and how exactly are players stitched into the narrative?
Schraga: RAID is a dark fantasy, character collection RPG where you summon mighty Champions from 15 different Factions to help defend the world of Teleria from the shadow god, Siroth. As a player, you help Teleria’s divine guardian, the Arbiter, in pushing back the forces of darkness, while growing your collection of Champions. Our story-driven campaign shows you aiding the Arbiter in one such mission, and our ever-growing collection of character biographies flesh out the world of Teleria and its epic history.
RAID is also on the cusp of receiving a few Legendary Champions from the Norse mythology catalog, too. Could you tell us a bit more about the upcoming event—Asgard Divide—and the features that are being added to the game?
Schraga: Of course! The Asgard Divide is one of RAID’s biggest events to date, introducing four Champions inspired by Norse mythology, but given a RAID twist. Players can collect these four Champions – Loki the Deceiver, Thor Faehammer, Freyja Fateweaver, and Odin Faefather – by taking part in The Asgard Divide’s many Events and Tournaments, with Loki the Deceiver being available by simply logging into RAID for 7 days before November 22nd.
For the first time, we’re also adding in a new Event Dungeon, where you can earn amazing in-game equipment by taking on a special boss who is intimately tied to the current Event happening in-game. For the first iteration of the Event Dungeon, players can take on the austere lord of Asgard, Odin Faefather! It’s quite the challenge in the later stages, believe me.
The Asgard Divide has begun, and now is a perfect time to join the Loki Chase! Give our new Spotlight a go to learn more about the titular Champion and see how Loki the Deceiver’s twisted wit can aid your cause.https://t.co/RtU45UfHji

Are we right in thinking that Asgard Divide will also be forging a brand-new storyline, too? Please could you tell us a bit about that?
Schraga: Correct! The Asgard Divide follows the story of Loki, and his connection to the Fae of Asgard – a group of ancient and powerful beings who dwell in Teleria’s Redspike Mountains. Loki was once an ally to the likes of Odin, Thor, and Freyja, living in Asgard’s mountain hall and learning from them.
But Loki harbored a dark scheme – one which would see him free Teleria from the shackles of its creator gods, but could destroy the very world in the ensuing chaos.
Players join the story as, several years later, Freyja beholds a terrifying vision of Loki finally putting his scheme into action. Knowing just what is at stake, Odin calls upon Thor to seek out Loki and bring him to justice – by whatever means necessary.
With Thor once viewing Loki as a trusted friend, he sets off on this quest, torn between his duty to his lord, and his devotion to a person he considered like a brother.
And how’s the fourth quarter looking for RAID: Shadow Legends? Aside from the forthcoming event, do you have any other plans for the RPG?
Schraga: We’ve had an amazing year so far – adding mega features to RAID such as Siege, which is a clan vs clan battle. We’ve also increased our market share and have grand plans to close it out! We began with an exceptionally strong first quarter thanks to our 5th anniversary celebrations, continued outperforming the Squad RPG genre overall in the following quarter, and have some exciting additions coming in the final one.
On top of new Champions and quality of life updates, our players can expect something quite special. I can’t spoil anything today, but you might see some heavily requested visitors making an appearance later this year. But most of all, I am proud of our amazing player community. We have had amazing feedback on our recent content releases and plan to continue investing in our players’ enjoyment.
Do you have any tips for those who’ve yet to embark on their own quests in RAID? Are there any dos or don’ts that could potentially aid newcomers’ progression?
Schraga: In terms of dos, I would say start now while The Asgard Divide is live! You will earn a free Legendary Champion in Loki the Deceiver just by logging in for seven days, which will really help in your first few weeks playing RAID. I’d also say to complete the in-game Progress Missions if you need a guide on what to do next as you’re just starting out.
As for don’ts, be careful with how you use Skill Tomes. I accidentally used a Legendary Skill Tome on my starter Champion, Galek, and I’ve been kicking myself ever since for wasting such a precious resource. Make sure you use the Skill Tome that matches your Champion’s Rarity, so Rare Skill Tomes on Rare Champions and so on. You’ll thank me later!

RAID clearly has more than enough content to keep its players busy over the coming months. With that said, we’d love to hear what else you’ve got in the pipeline over at Plarium. Care to share any details on any other ideas that you might be looking to explore this year?
Schraga: Again, we can’t spoil too much, but I will say – the global teams at Plarium are hard at work on some exciting new projects in genres you have not seen Plarium tackle as of yet. We have the best teams in the game industry who are passionate about creating amazing games. I’ve seen glimpses of what the teams are working on, and it’s really impressive.
With the sheer volume of updates and coverage available for RAID: Shadow Legends, it seems only right that we keep tabs on all of the social networks and other feeds. What’s the best way for us to stay up to date with the latest developments?
Schraga: Our dedicated RAID Facebook, Instagram, and X accounts, as well as our official YouTube channel. If you want to connect with other RAID players, head to our official Discord where you can chat with others, discuss strategies and of course, share memes.
Is there anything you would like to add before we go ahead and close the book?
Schraga: Just want to make sure our fans enjoy The Asgard Divide and get the most out of it! It’s been a real labor of love across multiple teams, and I’m so proud of everyone’s work. Thank you to all who touched this campaign. And also let us know what you think!
We hope to do similar events like this in the future for RAID, so please give us as much feedback as you can on what you liked, what you didn’t, and what you’d like to see for next time. It is always appreciated, and we cannot do anything without the support of our players.
Amazing. Thank you so much for your time!
