What is PROGRESS ORDERS?

PROGRESS ORDERS is an upcoming indie RPG game. It’s specifically a guild management RPG that takes place in a fantasy world. It’s a brand-new game from HAKAMA, a studio that is working tirelessly to incorporate lots of exciting adventures. While you’ll be managing a guild as the “guild master,” you’ll also be spearheading your unique story, playing as the protagonist of a new adventure. However, much of your role will also be to support your companions as you lead them to prosperity.

Story

PROGRESS ORDERS

The story of PROGRESS ORDERS goes: Your grandfather sends you a letter, inviting you to a new guild called Legion. Upon arrival, your grandfather is nowhere to be found. Still, you decide to spend more time in the guild, learning the ropes and helping out. In exchange, the guild members help you find clues to your grandfather’s whereabouts. Soon, the guild performs a ritual, crowning you a staff member. But you also gain powerful abilities called clairvoyance, that allow you to see and hear through the eyes of other people.

Your newfound abilities allow you to control others, pulling the strings for the greater good of the guild. Some of your responsibilities include helping guild staff members complete their duties, creating lasting bonds, and taking on quests for the Legion. But given the overwhelming power of controlling others, you trigger a “major incident” that could possibly destroy the world. Thanks to your commendable work, Legion receives new and skilled adventurers. And with more people, your adventures grow more mystical and profound.

You do get free rein over your character, choosing whether they are male or female. Meanwhile, you also gain access to several features in the game. Places like a blacksmith shop, an item shop, and a garden are present to help you navigate and explore the guild. While exploring, you’ll jumpstart new adventures, some leading you down exciting 3D-rendered paths.

Gameplay

PROGRESS ORDERS intertwines exploration and combat. You’ll explore the guild in 3D, embarking on new adventures. However, there’ll also be dungeons where you’ll fight dangerous monsters. Fortunately, you can venture into the dungeons with a capable party. Being the guild master, you can command different parties into the dungeons and watch as they progress through them automatically. However, you have leeway in that you can decide to fight on the front lines with your party.

Combat will be fighting against monsters in exciting and strategic “reading command” battles. Or, you can take a step back and let your guild members fight on your behalf. And, while they fight, you can take on other tasks that need your attention. In total, the game will have six guild members, including three men and three women. You can develop relationships and unique stories with your guild, including romantic pursuits. So, while you focus on ensuring your guild thrives, you’ll also be building connections with the characters you like.

Development

Developer HAKAMA and publisher Bushiroad are currently working on PROGRESS ORDERS. Yoshifumi Hashimoto from HAKAMA will be part of the developing team for the new game. That’s exciting given he’s produced popular games like Story of Seasons and the Rune Factory series. HAKAMA, in general, has also worked on Elrentaros Wanderings and Worth Life. Meanwhile, Bushiroad Games has worked on several games for console and mobile, including Lilja and Natsuka Painting Lines, Ginka, and Cardfight!! Vanguard Dear Days 2, among others. So, we know the upcoming game is in good hands.

Trailer

『PROGRESS ORDERS』Trailer - A New Fantasy RPG from the Producer of STORY OF SEASONS and Rune Factory

PROGRESS ORDERS’ debut trailer is out now on YouTube. The trailer video is, unfortunately, in Chinese, and the UI is quite cluttered. Also, exploration seems exciting, especially in 3D. However, combat seems to be in pixelated 2D style. Still, the gameplay does look fun, especially with the freedom to nurture romantic relationships. It may also surpass Rune Factory 5, which was a bit of a bummer.

The only issue is whether the game will make it to the West. The screenshots on Steam are in English. So, that’s hopeful. Plus, localization usually takes a while. In any case, here’s to hoping PROGRESS ORDERS delivers on its promise of a thrilling guild story and adventure.

Release Date, Platforms, & Editions

It’s official. PROGRESS ORDERS will be released on April 10, 2025, although the Steam page says April 9, likely because of time differences. That isn’t too far away, suggesting the development of the game is in its final stages. Unfortunately, the game will only be released in Japan. However, with a Steam page already out now, perhaps the developers will work on a global launch sometime in the future. Plus, it looks like the game’s UI will feature English, Chinese, and Japanese languages, as well as subtitles for the same.

Nevertheless, we can confirm that the game will be coming to Nintendo Switch and PC platforms via Steam. So, if you’re a Steam owner, feel free to add PROGRESS ORDERS to your wishlist to know as soon as it’s available for download. While we wait for launch day, we’ll have to also wait for confirmation of any editions that may be available for preorder. But if you’d like to have all the information at your fingertips, then feel free to follow the official social handle here and keep track of new updates as they come.
