10 Most Anticipated Xbox Games Releasing in Q3 2025

We’re already halfway through the year and still getting anxious about some of the most anticipated games in gaming history. Looking at you Grand Theft Auto VI, which, my God, does it look so damn juicy in the trailer. Unfortunately, it has been delayed, yet again, to May 26, 2026. But worry not. There, still, is a relatively exciting lineup of games to look forward to in the coming weeks.

Today, we want to dive deep into the most anticipated Xbox games releasing in Q3 2025. So, this is between July 1st and September 30th. That way, you can be readying your Xbox consoles for the exact dates when the games are available for download.

10. Missile Command Delta

Atari has been all-hands-on-deck on remaking cult-classics. And they don’t just copy and paste the old formula, but modernize and add more complexity to the new game. Although Missile Command Delta’s trailer shows very little of what we can expect in the final game, based on Atari’s glowing track record in remaking classics, we are already nearly certain the final product will be grand.

The old folks who got hooked on the original Atari 2600+ will remember how addictive the first game was. Now, with the reimagined sort-of-sequel, you can look forward to nuking enemies to defend the planet of Zardon once again.

Release Date: July 8, 2025

9. Marathon

Extraction shooters are showing no signs of slowing down, with the recent announcement of yet another new one called Marathon. This comes from the creators of Halo and Destiny; quite some big names there. The futuristic, highly polished sci-fi graphics are a sight to behold.

Playing as a cybernetic mercenary, you’ll scavenge a lost colony for fame and fortune, teaming up with friends to extract weapons and upgrades against opposing teams.

Release Date: September 23, 2025

8. Mafia: The Old Country

We already know how compelling the Mafia stories have been, allowing you to embody the life of a gangster across different eras of organized crime. So, an upcoming Mafia: The Old Country already has gamers excited.

This time, you’ll be heading to 1900s Sicily to uncover the origins of organized crime. Quite the interesting setting already, with some old and new faces looking to grace us with, hopefully, yet another tantalizing mob story.

Release Date: August 8, 2025

7. Hell is Us

Next on the most anticipated Xbox games releasing in Q3 2025 is Hell is Us. Quite some bone-chilling scenes in the trailer, exploring Hadea. But it has an intriguing story, too, with lots of haunting mystery and terrifying monsters.

In many regards, it gives Remnant vibes. Yet the gameplay places huge emphasis on melee action. It may also be open-world. But the constant dread hanging in the air, the strangeness of this world that makes you cautiously explore it, could potentially result in a one-of-a-kind moody adventure.

Release Date: September 4, 2025

6. Borderlands 4

We already know just how funky and hilarious Borderlands is. It’s one of the franchises where playing mercenary is the most enjoyable you’ll feel. It’s been such a sweet ride, in fact, that we’re now looking forward to Borderlands 4

Get ready to loot and shoot your way through a world of chaos and demise. Every which way, deadly enemies will come at you. But you’ll have the arsenal to take them down. Here’s to hoping that the life of a Vault Hunter brings about fun and adventure, and not your head blasted to bits.

Release Date: September 12, 2025

5. EA Sports Madden NFL 26

For a franchise that has sunk its roots into players’ hearts, EA Sports Madden NFL 26 will definitely have millions ready to dominate the NFL league. With annual franchises, though, it’s easy to stagnate, only making a few tweaks to the previous game.

We’ll have to wait and see just how much EA Sports elevates fluidity, authenticity, and realism in the upcoming iteration.

Release Date: August 14, 2025

4. EA Sports College Football 26

While highlighting the annual franchises in the pipeline, EA Sports College Football 26 is a worthy mention. This focuses on, well, college football, providing you with a whopping ton of 300 real-world coaches, 10,000 players, and 2,700 new plays.

Even though you’re yet to be in the big leagues, EA Sports has been doing a great job of still making it lively, complete with iconic college stadiums and authentic, fast-paced gameplay.

Release Date: July 10, 2025

3. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater is one of the most anticipated Xbox games releasing in Q3 2025, simply because the original 2004 Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater knocked it out of the park. Being a remake, we expect, more or less, similar storylines and gameplay.

However, it’s been over two decades now since the first release. So, we expect the all-new graphics and 3D audio that Konami promises to surely elevate the original stealth gameplay to the next level.

Release Date: August 28, 2025

2. Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game

When you watch The Hobbit, I bet the first thought that comes to mind as a gamer is being able to be immersed in the Middle-earth world. Well, Tales of the Shire is the first game to attempt to bring The Hobbit world to life.

Hobbit life as we know it is stress-free and all vibrant. The question is, can Wētā Workshop authentically capture the same coziness and idyllic lifestyle, exploring and discovering secrets of the Shire?

Release Date: July 29, 2025

1. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4

Those of you who played the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater will know just how fun pulling off the stunts and bopping your head to the booming music was. We’ve already had a remake of the first two games in the series, and the reception was wild.

With the third and fourth games underway, we can’t help getting all giddy over both the old and new skaters, parks, tricks, and music we’ll get to vibe to. And with that, we wrap up the most anticipated Xbox games releasing in Q3 2025.
