10 Most Anticipated PlayStation Games Releasing in Q3 2025

July through September has quite some exciting upcoming releases to look forward to, particularly on the PlayStation 5, which remains one of the best ways to experience gaming in the modern age. We’ve seen some inevitable delays, the most disappointing one being Grand Theft Auto VI, which will now release in 2026. However, new announcements have been gracing our news feeds, from blockbuster sequels to brand-new titles.

Today, we’re taking a look at the most anticipated PlayStation games releasing in Q3 2025, so you can be prepared with your DualSense wireless controllers in hand and possibly a buddy for the multiplayer options.

10. SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance

Bringing back cult-classics has become a commonplace thing in gaming, with SEGA jumping on the bandwagon with their own SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance. Having originally released in 1987, the SHINOBI series elevated ninja 2D action-platforming gameplay. It starred Joe Musashi, a popular SEGA mascot, and prided itself on high-quality graphics, gameplay, and music.

Now, the upcoming Art of Vegeance aims to thrive on the same. The graphics and gameplay already look polished in the trailer. If all goes well, we could be looking at more reincarnations of two-decade-old SEGA franchises.

Release Date: August 29, 2025

9. Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion

Mech fans will likely know Daemon X Machina, a 2019 game that uses fast-paced combat in stylized art. It merged the best parts of Armored Core and Gundam to bring you lots of pilot customization, chaotic combat, and a serviceable story.

While the reviews didn’t quite hit the roof, the upcoming sequel Titanic Scion could possibly elevate the series to the next level. So, get ready to strap on your suit, wield your gun and blade, and storm through machine-packed enemy stages and fierce boss battles.

Release Date: September 5, 2025

8. Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate

Expansions may not always catch your eye. But in a series as good as Destiny, you might want to stay on high alert for the release of The Edge of Fate. It marks the next chapter in the constantly evolving Destiny 2 universe.

The expansion will bring with it a new destination for Guardians to explore. You’ll also tinker around with never-been-seen-before abilities, as well as team up with new allies, all in preparation for the next saga, The Fate Saga

Release Date: July 15, 2025

7. Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap

Looking for chaos, just because? You know how Orcs do it, especially Orcs Must Die! This series has been an absolute joy to play. The Orcs simply go crazy using all manner of weapons and raging out in all sorts of attacks and abilities.

But the action-tower defense series now has an upcoming entry, Deathtrap. Here, you’ll grapple with chaotic third-person combat, with lots of traps to set for the opposing forces. Each battle unlocks new abilities and upgrades that enhance replayability against hordes of ravenous orcs.

Release Date: July 29, 2025

6. Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater

One of the longest-running series is coming back, resurrecting the 2004 Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Just as absorbing as the original story was, will the upcoming remake be. And as a remake, it’ll retain the same characters and missions, for the most part.

Yet, it’s been decades now. And the expectation is that Konami will drastically elevate the user experience. They, for one, plan to add all-new graphics and 3D audio. Overall, we can’t wait to head back into the original’s jungle atmosphere, only dipped in a fresh light and coat of paint.

Release Date: August 28, 2025

5. RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business

Enough with remakes and the return of cult-classics. Keep a lookout for the new standalone entry, RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business. Given the flurry of RoboCop games we’ve already had, it’s definitely exciting to be embarking on an entirely new adventure.

RoboCop has unfinished business with elite mercenaries working for the OmniTower. And you must enforce the law, doing what you do best, through to the top of the tower.

Release Date: July 17, 2025

4. Madden NFL 26

For loyal followers of the Madden NFL series, you must be wondering what the next iteration plans to do differently. Well, Madden NFL 26 has made a few promises, including adding a brand-new Coach DNA feature. This will allow you to coach the team based on how real-life coaches have historically done.

This, alongside overhauls of outdated features, makes Madden NFL 26 one of the most anticipated PlayStation games releasing in Q3 2025.

Release Date: August 14, 2025

3. Mafia: The Old Country

2K Games is also working on something special called Mafia: The Old Country. “Something special” because it’ll take us back to the origins of organized crime in the Mafia series. And based on how engrossing and gritty the mob stories have been so far, we know adventuring through 1900s Sicily will be just as exhilarating, if not totally dangerous.

Release Date: August 8, 2025

2. Terminator 2D: No Fate

Remember the 1991 Terminator 2: Judgment Day film? Well, Reef Entertainment is soon releasing an officially licensed adaptation of the film titled Terminator 2D: No Fate. Although it’ll use a 2D action side-scrolling gameplay style, you can still expect to relive the iconic events and fights from the original film.

Overall, though, the actual gameplay looks like it will be so much fun and hilarious, even featuring a naked Terminator wreaking havoc on enemies.

Release Date: September 5, 2025

1. Borderlands 4

The Borderlands series is showing no signs of slowing down, with the upcoming Borderlands 4 currently in the pipeline of the most anticipated PlayStation games releasing in Q3 2025. We already know how wholesome the series is, with its chaotic action and boundless weapons. For the new game, you’ll become Vault Bounty Hunters, tracking down mercenaries and making a name for yourself in the treacherous wasteland of the Borderlands universe.

The weapons are all-new, with each hunter having unique abilities. You’ll craft the perfect loadout and build, too, while claiming the best and wildest loot for yourself.
