Frostpunk 2: Every Faction, Ranked
At the center of Friostpunk 2’s Frostlands are communities and factions that magnify the political aspect of the game. It’s a whole democratic government where communities have a say in development. The leader’s laws trigger factions, each with non-negotiable ideas guided by their beliefs. For those still new to the Frostpunk 2 world, here is a ranking of every faction and how they can help you survive and rebuild the city districts.
12. Evolvers

Evolvers appear among the first factions players encounter when playing Frostpunk 2′s story mode. It is the opposing faction for Faithkeepers and follows the cornerstones of adaptation, merit, and reason. The members here believe everything about faith is religious fanaticism. They detest the faith established by the Captain and believe the Captain’s death would end these ideals. The faction appears when you choose faith in the prologue. The faction unlocks the perks of production efficiency by training workers and good relations.
11. Faithkeepers

You must still select faith in the prologue for this faction to appear. This faction is based on the cornerstones of progress, equality, and tradition. Faithkeepers consist of the religious population who uphold the Captain’s faith. They believe it keeps them together in such difficult times as the storm. The faction thus comes with benefits like serenity sermons and evening players.
10. Pilgrims

The Pilgrims are in direct opposition with the Stalwarts. They are founded on the axes of adaptation, equality, and tradition. In a city where the population tends to stagnate, the Pilgrims’ cornerstones can prove beneficial to include in your laws. According to them, everyone should be bound by their tradition and embrace the frozen city as their home. Their ability to send guides to break the ice could also save you time exploring the frozen land.
9. Stalwarts

Stalwarts are a starting faction in Frostpunk 2 story mode. They appear when you select Order in the prologue. They follow the city’s direction of reason, merit, and progress and are staunch followers of the deceased captain. It’s a good faction to have in your good books, as they are quite devoted to ensuring there’s order and control in New London. They also provide additional prefabs, a great resource for rebuilding your city.
8. Bohemians

Bohemians are found in the Utopia Build in Frostpunk 2 and are the opposing faction of the Overseers. The Bohemians have pretty impressive ideas that make them a great faction in which to build relations. They propose radical ideologies like food hoarding, which triggers the food sweep district ability and huge food stock. Selecting the right laws will put the faction in your good books and boost the food security of your community. However, most of their abilities still come with setbacks, which makes one rethink prioritizing the Bohemians.
7. Icebloods

The Frostland isn’t the best of environments to try to rebuild your city. However, an environment that also comes with several hands to provide enough manpower exists. With that in mind, the Icebloods become one of the best factions for any steward. A fortunate deletion here are the polar bears, who now won’t hinder players’ expeditions. Players who choose to fight them off simply do it for fun. The residents are the tough survivalists and only draw the resilient and capable members of the community. They are ready to take any explorations and are good at hunting.
6. Legionnaires

You need Thinkers and Lords as your starting community for this faction to appear. However, you will need to weigh the options with what the Proteans bring to the table. They chest thumb about their ability to fight against the frost, and they value tradition, discipline, and cohesion. You can be sure they will stick together for the course, which aligns with the leader’s desire. But what makes them even more desirable before you build your city enough are the instant prefabs they provide and additional guards.
5. Menders

With the menders, your city is lined up for success in the long term. It definitely makes sense to have the faction early enough. Your population gets a boost by a couple of hundreds, and they are passionate about the frost land they consider their new home. Additionally, they can fasten the expeditions. This means you will acquire much-needed resources faster when your laws keep the Menders happy.
4. Overseers

Overseers believe in merit, progress, and tradition. They totally disagree with the Bohemians, but they will be helpful if you are struggling with crime and productivity. So, if you believe the Frostland has enough deposits, it’s probably the only faction you need to survive. They will drill coal and oil resources in a record timeframe and give you bonuses and the benefits of progress buildings.
3. Proteans

Proteans champion merit-based growth and adaptation, which aligns with their core values, merit, adaptation, and reason. They are adaptationists and have a zeal to survive the frostland. With adaptation buildings resulting in diseases along with abilities like factions like the Bohemians, Proteans offer a beacon of hope with their healing ability. They reduce illness and cure diseases, meaning more of the workforce can resume production.
2. Technocrats

Technocrats are one of the best factions you can have, but for unique reasons. You only need to start your Frostpunk 2 gameplay with Foragers and Machinists to discover the Technocrats’ potential. They are technology-oriented, very calculating, and always make rational decisions. Therefore, this faction will drive you to optimization rather than productivity. That’s pretty cool when you struggle with a stagnating population and high demands. Besides, they are good at researching and will always be a step ahead with their speed. The only conflict you will probably have is their weird spirit for equality, which might not align well with the optimization idea.
1. Ventures

Ventures is a great Frostpunk 2 faction in your coalition for staunch leaders focused on efficiency and productivity. They are zealous about maximizing everything on their path to progress, making them true to the ultimate mission. The city must not fall. Ventures are investment-oriented and will see you boost the Heatstamp income. And besides production efficiency, nothing is lost through crime under Ventures’ watch. They bring additional mercenary guards, reducing crime.
