BLEACH Rebirth of Souls: 10 Best Tips For Beginners

The 3D arena fighter, BLEACH Rebirth of Souls, can easily overwhelm you with its many gauges and skills to master. The characters, too, are a whopping bunch, each with their own unique flair and abilities.
If you’re familiar with the BLEACH anime or manga, you might have a better idea of the anime jargon, flamboyant skills, and special unlocks like Awakening. However, newcomers may struggle to grip the intricacies of each fight.
Don’t worry, though, as we’ve analyzed what it takes to win a battle not just in general but against some of the most fearsome characters on the roster. Read on to find out the BLEACH Rebirth of Souls: best tips for beginners.
10. Learn Zan Ken So Ki
The first anime jargon you’ll run into is Zan Ken So Ki. Don’t let it discourage you, as it simply means the core move set that each character (Soul Reaper) can access. These are four basic fighting moves that include the Zanjutsu (swordsmanship), Hoho (high-speed movement), Kido (spiritual energy techniques), and Hakuda (martial arts).
Depending on your character, you can further break them down into various attacks and defensive moves. You can also access healing and other support abilities via Kido, for instance. Meanwhile, Hakuda is your physical combat skills that include your basic Quick Attacks, Heavy Strikes, and Counterattacks.
Quick Attacks are swift but leave you open to damage intake. To avoid giving enemies room to strike, you can chain multiple Quick Attack combos. Meanwhile, heavy strikes are more long-range and cause greater damage. Counterattacks inflict more damage, too. Thus, they’re better for breaking the enemy’s guards.
9. Unleash Spiritual Pressure Moves
Ideally, you might want to suffocate the enemy in successive Quick Attacks to drain their Reishi. Then, unleash the Heavy Strikes to chip away their Spirit Gauge. The Spirit Gauge, located at the lower corner of the screen, is quite important, both for you and the enemy. It measures your Spiritual Power.
To fill it up, you simply need to use your skills in battle. Once filled, you can use spiritual power to unleash Reiatsu, which is a powerful, unique attack otherwise known as a spiritual pressure move. These inflict devastating damage and differ depending on the character, including some powerful counters.
8. Drain Your Opponent’s Reishi
So, how do you win? Well, you focus on draining your opponent’s Reishi, which is simply their health bar. To do so, you want to learn and master your character’s Zan Ken So Ki against the opponent as well as Spiritual Pressure moves.
7. Then, Destroy Their Konpaku
BLEACH Rebirth of Souls has a second health bar. Once the Reishi is running low, you want to now focus on draining your opponent’s Konpaku to win the fight. Once your opponent’s Reishi is running low, you can put them into a Soul Break state. This will allow you to trigger a Kikon move, which is a finishing move that destroys an opponent’s Konpaku.
6. Awaken the Beast Within
At times, your opponent may have more Konpaku left. So, they’re able to make a comeback. In this case, you can boost your Kikon move further by entering the Awakening state. You can do so when you max out your Spirit Gauge. Note, though, that the Spirit Gauge has three stages: Evolution, Sublimation, and Spirit Drive.
When the gauge starts to glow, it’s in the Evolution stage, when you can activate your Awakening. It’s the epitome of your character’s abilities, granting you access to earth-shattering attacks. In the Awakened state, you’ll continue building your Spirit Gauge, which then unlocks Sublimation. This powers up your Kikon moves before the ultimate powerful Spirit Drive state.
5. Besides Awakening, You Can Reawaken
The characters in BLEACH Rebirth of Souls vary. They can transform mid-battle into their Bankai, Shikai, or Resurrection forms. While some of these new forms are purely aesthetic, others grant you combat enhancements. You may regain health, inflict more damage, or access new combos.
4. Master Reverse Actions
Reverse Actions can be so powerful, enough to tip the scales in your favor at the last minute. While they can take a while to master, they help drain lots of Spiritual Power from your opponent. You’ll know when to use Reverse Actions by the Reverse Gauge, located at the bottom of the screen, and fills up passively during the fight.
Once filled, you can activate three Reverse Actions. These let you enter an enhanced state where you can either:
- Soul Reverse (white): Temporarily boost Step ability, speed up how quickly you gain Spiritual Power, and enhance Spiritual Power,
- Chain Reverse (yellow): Continues combos and boosts how quickly you gain Spiritual Power or,
- Burst Reverse (blue): Cancel opponent’s combos, recover Guard Gauge, boost one unit of Spirit Gauge, knock back surrounding enemies, and move around faster.
3. Make the Most of Hoho
Hoho, your high-speed movement Zan Ken So Ki is actually pretty handy. It not only allows you to move behind an enemy from any direction and pretty fast but also extends a combo with a follow-up attack. You can also evade an incoming attack by moving behind the enemy to counterattack them, which will boost your Spiritual Power.
2. Don’t Forget to Counterattack
In all your practice sessions, be sure to not only dodge attacks but also guard them. Guard means to defend yourself against enemy attacks. It’s a useful skill tracked by the Guard Gauge under the Reishi Gauge. You’ll need to precisely time your opponent’s attacks. Moreover, you have to judge their distance, which can be tricky for agile enemies. With timing and distance intact, you can use Guard to avoid enemy attacks effectively.
1. Sharpen Your Skills in Battle Mode
As you can imagine, BLEACH Rebirth of Souls has plenty of ways you can beat opponents. It can all be a bit too much with the many Gauges on-screen and unique character abilities. But the Battle Mode is a great place to test yourself and learn from others in exciting co-op matches.
