You won’t be wrong to feel like there’s still something missing among the Game of Thrones games we’ve received so far. Sure, we have diverse genres, from role-playing games to real-time strategy. However, we’re yet to truly feel immersed in the rollercoaster world of Westeros, to truly feel like we’re a part of House Stark, House Lannister, or Targaryen –whichever tickles your fancy.

That intensity fighting hordes of the white walkers or the breaking of your heart after an unexpected betrayal. That’s not to say that there aren’t Game of Thrones games worth checking out. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your combat skills or enjoy a deep strategic playthrough, our ranking of the best Game of Thrones games of all time has something for you.

Game of Thrones: Winter is Coming is a massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game, officially licensed to adapt George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire high fantasy novel series and, consequently, HBO’s show, Game of Thrones. In the game, players take on the role of a Westeros lord, tasked with conquering the fictional continent and saving their people from ongoing war.

The world is massive and three-dimensional, featuring familiar scenery and characters from the show. Gameplay-wise, you can build a fortified base, expanding your territory the more resources you acquire, the more characters you recruit into your army, and how successfully you train them for battle.

We’re talking 10,000 troops. So, you know battles are going to be intense and put on a spectacle, much like the hordes of white walkers breaching the wall and crossing into the Seven Kingdoms.
