Apex Legends developer, Respawn Entertainment, has issued a statement asking players to stop harassing its development team. Respawn has said that the studio has received an increase in harassment targeting members of its development team.

In a statement on Respawn’s official Twitter account, the developer issued a stern message to those harassing its development team. Respawn announced that it will take appropriate measures and action against those responsible to guarantee its teams’ health and safety.

“We welcome community input. However, the line between constructive feedback and the harassment of our dev team cannot be crossed. We want to remind our players that we have a zero-tolerance policy for threats and the harassment of our developers,” the statement read.

“We will take appropriate action to ensure the health and safety of our team. We love hearing feedback and will continue to work alongside our community to foster a respectful, collaborative environment, and uphold the competitive integrity of our game.”

Fellow developers such as Bungie have also responded in support of Respaw’s statement. Santa Monica Studio creative director Cory Barlog also replied to the tweet. The Destiny developer said that “Standing against toxicity and harassment takes all of us working together to build healthier communities. We are with you in that effort.”

In June Bungie took legal action against Twitch streamer Luca Leone, better known as MiffysWorld. The streamer is facing legal charges for redistributing Destiny 2 assets, cheating, and threatening Bungie staff members. He repeatedly threatened to set the studio’s offices on fire and warned staff to “keep their doors locked.” God of War creator Santa Monica Studio, issued a similar statement in July after receiving online harassment when the developer postponed the release of Ragnarök.

Respawn has previously worked on Apex Legends, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
