All Amanda the Adventurer Games, Ranked
At first glance, Amanda the Adventurer looks all cute and fuzzy. Its old analog aesthetic and retro children’s Dora the Explorer-like TV show theme invoke intense nostalgia, warming the heart with an experience that would appear sweet and wholesome. But the charming facade soon drops, revealing a most creepy and dreadful meat of the game. And gamers and critics alike loved it to death.
So far, developer MANGLEDmaw Games and publisher DreadXP have released the Amanda the Adventurer horror game series across two titles. On April 25, 2025, the developing and publishing team announced on X that Amanda the Adventurer 3 will be coming to Steam sometime in 2025. We don’t know yet when the third entry in the series is likely to arrive. However, we do know the setting, story, and gameplay that it’ll likely feature, thanks to the announcement teaser trailer and Steam page.
So, how do all three titles stack up against one another? Are there titles worth playing more than others? Just how worthwhile has each title been? Let’s find out in our ranking of all the Amanda the Adventurer games, including the upcoming finale.
3. Amanda the Adventurer 3
For starters, the third entry will pick up precisely where the predecessor left off. You’ll still be playing as Riley Park on their journey to investigating the mysteries surrounding Amanda and Hameln. Amanda is the protagonist of an old cartoon TV show called Amanda the Adventurer, while Hameln Entertainment is the studio that produced the show. Being the conclusion to the series, we expect this entry to provide answers to the lingering questions the predecessors built while revealing the truth behind Amanda and Hameln.
For that reason alone, I presume the third entry will be highly insightful and thought-provoking. Provided that the developing team are able to creatively and expertly handle the delivery. Yet, given the already strong writing, mysterious and magnetic world building, and clever puzzles of the predecessors, I’m almost certain they will aim to please.
According to the game’s blurb on Steam, Riley Park will once again be exploring a new setting in the abandoned Hameln facilities. Like the previous entries, there’s bound to be lots of danger and abounding mysteries alike. You’ll crack puzzles and put the pieces back together, bringing closure to the lingering questions about Amanda, your aunt Kate, Hameln Corporation, and every key figure at the center of the sinister production of the kids’ TV show, Amanda the Adventurer.
It’s difficult for us to rank a game that hasn’t been released yet. We simply cannot be sure of Amanda the Adventurer 3‘s success until it arrives sometime this year. In the meantime, be sure to keep a lookout for any new information via the official social channel. Meanwhile, we’ll tentatively place the upcoming game in third place in the ranking of all Amanda the Adventurer games.

In second place, we’re placing the first game, Amanda the Adventurer, released in April 2023. This was the beginning of Riley Park’s journey, stumbling onto VHS tapes of Amanda the Adventurer in her aunt’s attic. It doesn’t take long to realize that this isn’t any ordinary retro cartoon TV show. The show was canceled because viewers began to experience creepier and more dreadful later seasons. Not to mention the rumors of the show’s association with missing children.
The more VHS tapes you discover in your aunt Kate’s attic, the more the cobweb of mysteries surrounding the show’s characters and production company grows. You’re able to interact with the show’s protagonist, Amanda, and her sidekick Wooly the sheep, careful to heed Amanda’s requests or they may attack you. Soon, you’re forced into an escape room-like puzzle-solving game that has you fumbling about to save your life.
The first game definitely received lots of praise for its dark, creepy, and bits of laughable moments here and there. Ultimately, though, some of its mysteries became too intertwined, so much so that they feel obtuse. Still, you enjoy such clever puzzle-solving scenarios and strong writing that pulls you further into an intense world of creative imagery and design. The story crafted an unsettling ride that keeps getting better the more you play. But the whole is certainly not perfect and could have used a little loving in certain areas of its story and gameplay.
1. Amanda the Adventurer 2
Finally, Amanda the Adventurer 2 takes the crown home. Released in October 2024, the second game in the series enjoyed the benefit of learning from the mistakes of its predecessor. You pick up where the first game left off. Riley has just escaped her aunt’s attic by the whiskers and is proceeding to explore a new location, the Kensdale Public Library. Here, we discover more VHS tapes that reveal darker mysteries surrounding the TV show.
There’s a powerful demonic Entity you have to watch out for. Plus, Amanda is now aware of your presence and desires to use you to free herself from the TV show. It’s all a twisted web of ideas and more mysteries that elevate the series’ intrigue to the next level. Feature-wise, you explore a bigger world with more secrets and lore to find. You meet new characters who help dig deeper into the stories of the core characters, Amanda, Riley, and her aunt Kate. Most importantly, you’re getting a little closer to uncovering the truth behind the production of Amanda the Adventurer.
Simply from delivering more content, more VHS tapes, more puzzles, more secrets, etc, Amanda the Adventurer 2 ranks in first place. But even more so, the gameplay remains efficient and engaging. You interact with clever puzzles and enjoy creative horror. Toss a bit of humor here and there, and the dreadful aspects of the game become more tolerable. You uncover creepy scenes, but with a great balance of dread and humor that ultimately encourages you to keep exploring and uncover all the secrets and multiple endings the game has to offer.
